@brewsky I agree, these are very poor sampling methods. Sure, there's linguistic efficiency in that he doesn't have to give his answer now, but the results of this survey will be of no use.

Also, I prefer the American model. Sure, people see it as ugly, but it's what I grew up with, so I'll always love it.

Japanese/European design is the original one and of course the prettier. US got the uglier one God knows why. The NoA guys woke up one day and decided to screw up a perfectly good design for no reason. Also, the US cartridges are uglier than the original designs.
The one upside to the US design is that it's possible to play official Japanese games without visibly damaging the console.
Whereas the other way around, not so.
The Japanese version by far, in a decent second the model 2 SNES. I'm sorry but that boxy system with the bottom sides ribbed for your pleasure is just straight ugly and unweildy too. That said the one I own is that original model in the DK Super Set but I've had both US systems and used the Japanese one before. The non-US model just has a sleeker nicer looking design, and those multicolored buttons on the controller are handy too.
