Super NES controller by far.Classic Controller does feel like a SNES controller but you know theres just 2 analog sticks and 2 extra shoulder buttons in the way! At best the Classic Controller is an improved N64 Controller.
GCN Controller is also a runner-up

Of course you own the actual Deathsmiles cabinet....only ARC cabinet I own is a turbo-old Hotdog Storm cabinet cause i got it ridicu-cheap....like buying-a-console-game cheap. Gotta love people who accumulate things, then Craigslist them without researching their value!
I can't believe how many people like the N64 controller....it was the only reason I never bought the system (and the reason I want more N64 content released on VC!) Give me those games w/o that controller, and you've got an unbelievably happy young Swerd Murderous.
The Hori GC pad was always a nice controller...same GC layout/buttons, no sticks, and a big, comfy d-pad...it's my choice Ikaruga controller if I'm not using an arcade stick (and sucking it up horribly with said arcade stick...dunno when shmups are gonna start feeling natural with one) And there was a vote for the original Xbox controller.....whuuuut!? That thing was feces: the controller.
Saturn pads will forever feel unnatural to me....3 buttons in a line is just too many, and i can't use my right hand in "keyboard" (raised) form with 3 fingers, cause I'm used to using my left hand like that and right hand on keys-directions, although the d-pad is what dreams are made of.
Curious change of topic--what's the best third-party controller? Consider MadCatz, Logitech, all those players--what's everyone's favorite?I gotta say I love my Thrustmaster--2 clickable sticks, R1-R4 buttons (third set of triggers, Xbox/sixaxis-pressure-style) behind the R1/R2 / L1/L2, remappable from controller, force feedback, gigasmic d-pad...all sorts of good stuff! Aaaand USB input / PS1/2 connector / PS3 usb capability, for good measure!

N64 Controller is the best! Just like Toad says in MK64.

Wait...Corbie is short for Corbert? Please confirm. And Swerd Murd, the only reason I can fathom that you don't like the 64 Controller is because you never owned one. Also, most ridiculously cheap things on Craigslist aren't necessarily sold by stupid people, the correct term is "stolen" I believe. That being said, 60% of criminals can't read or write, so it may be true.

What's a Corbert anyway? Is it like a disease you can catch? I think I have it! Maybe that's why I'm so kind and caring!

lol it's not....reference to prior communication. Corbie is Corbie.
If someone went through the process of even locating a Hot Dog Storm cabinet, and found it, they deserve to steal it. And I deserve to pay bottom-dollar for it, with a relatively clean conscience since now I don't have to MAME it to hear the amazing stage music.

Best Controller of all time? The Fat Controller (Five gold stars to anybody who gets the reference!)
In all seriousness, I can't exactly pinpoint which controller is my favourite; I like each for varying reasons, and it'd be neat if Nintendo and other companies made a range of VC-compatible controllers, one for each console (with multiple colour choices in the case of the N64 controller) so everybody could use their favourite!
Although...there's something oddly cool about the Power Glove...

My two favorites are the Dreamcast and Gamecube controllers, they both mold to my hands really well. I also like the Sturn/Genny controllers.
Who Are You?

So, uh yeah. Can you hijack my account again Corbie? It's sorta boring posting about my favourite controller in a favourite controller thread.
