Topic: Bad nintendo games

@ Yeah Other M had mixed opinions but it was not in the same league as those educational Mario games.
They really are crap. Other M just has alot of Critics.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Mario Party Advance yet. So crappy...

It's ratings are a mixed bag however so it wouldn't really fall under "bad" per say more like fair. In fact, this whole thread could be pretty subjective seeing as I liked Super Paper Mario.

Looking at the original post, it seems like they were looking for a game that was developed by Nintendo and critically panned. In true that's a really tough question. A lot of bad "Nintendo" games weren't developed by Nintendo such as Metroid: Other M (quality is subjective here).

I'd say Wii Play would probably fit though being a pack in (and what appeared to be a tech demo) I'm not sure how good of an argument it'd be.

The backtracking wasn't that bad, I never had a problem with the inventory and I didn't find that many levels boring.

That's developed by Hudson Soft, just like the other Mario Party games (except for 9).

I actually liked Mario Party Advance. I hadn't played other Mario Party games before this one so it may be the reason. I liked many mini-games, especially Amplifried, and defeating random amount of Koopa Kids in Bowser stages were also funny.

Then I guess our opinions differ, right?

I don't have a problem with Nintendo trying new and different things, but the execution rarely seems to live up to the ideas. (see Other M, SPM)

Really? I found it quite enjoyable. The minigames were especially the best in the series.

Nintendo didn't make those. Mindscape/Software Toolworks did. Considering they came out the same year as the SMB movie, I think it's safe to say Nintendo's more careful who they license out to these days.

I can see the former (even if I disagree), but who is bad enough at Super Paper Mario to have to backtrack to get healing items? Outside of the tough bonus areas, the game is one of the easiest platformers I have ever played.

And at least complain about chapter 2-3, that was just awful.

Urban Champion sucked pretty hard. Ice Climbers and Mach Rider are pretty crappy too.

Edit: Forgot about Alleyway. That one was terrible too.

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time-
Just not very fun. I find myself spaced off in this empty open world. The dungeons are good, but the puzzles aren't very fun or rewarding and there's really nothing Ocarina does better than any of it's predecessor's let alone other Nintendo franchises. I'm hoping the 3DS entry can do itself justice. And yeah... you can put down your pickaxes and torches.

Luigi's Mansion-
I couldn't help myself but to want to well... punch myself in the face when playing this. The controls weren't the best, and the overall gameplay was either frustrating or just plain meh. Theres been countless times where I vacuumed up the ghost perfectly and then there's others where I didn't do it right? Bullcrap. (It's been awhile since Ive played it but all I remember is that I don't like it.)

Star Fox Adventures-
Nothing like a poor attempt at a cinematic Star Fox from yours truly Rareware. The voice acting (specifically at the beginning), is FREAKING ANNOYING!!! AAAHHHHH!!!! It's like they're talking in a foreign language and talking about the end of the world and how they're going to destroy Corneria: Aki akiba como estas jiberrish jibberish blah blah Corneria blah sniffle blah jibeerish. Really? And that's music to my ears compared to what they're actually saying. Not only that but take Zelda's gameplay formula and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. That's what its like playing this game. The controls are not inspirational, music is forgettable and with the absence of Falco throughout 95% of the game it isn't what it could be. The only good part is either the graphics or the credits. Assault>>>Adventures.

Yeah, bad Nintendo games is a myth. Then again Pokemon Channel is pretty bad. Wii Music is pretty bad- that should have come out earlier to make more room for better games. Battle Revolution had its issues.

I don't think anyone realizes the OP was talking about games that were bashed by critics, not fans. Methinks the title needs to be renamed...

I thonk people are letting personal opinons come into this when in relaity you should be saying games not that you personally don't like or have fun with but games that as a whole at least 80-90% of people dislike. Their will always be that one guy who enjoyed it or hated it.

There were healing items in Super Paper Mario? Huh...guess I never needed to check
