I know not exactly retro, but i was thinking about games made by nintendo and was wondering have there actually been any really bad games made by nintendo? By that I mean critised by gamers and mags (like rise of the robots etc). I can't actually think of a single one. Anyone know of any?
Probably not, as one game developer said (can't remember, it was really old, I'm thinking maybe it was Argonaut in a Star Fox interview) Nintendo's smart enough to cancel any irredeemable games they make (like the N64 version of Mother 3, the developers said it was canceled for serious quality issues).
I guess DK Jr. Math is probably the most criticized of those that did come out. I just can't remember the source, but I'm pretty sure at one point someone at Nintendo (like Miyamoto) said in an interview an arcade version of Clu-clu Land (didn't say if it was VS. or an unreleased version) only took in 3 coins in a test location.

I played lots of Clu Clu Land (NES/VC) and Welcome to New Clu Clu Land! Disk Version (Famicom Disk System). Both versions are unlockable in Animal Crossing (Gamecube). The Clu Clu Land games have unique controls. Everyone new to the game has to do a few practice rounds to get the grab-and-swing controls down, and it's kind of fastpaced too as there's no halt to the character's movement - they're always propelling forwards. Really not the best fit on arcade, it is too unique and challenging. On top of that, when you first play the game you don't even know what the goal is if you have no manual or internet around. You have to find invisible rupees in 40 stages+bonus stages+boss. It's not as obvious as it sounds and might have confused Clu Clu Land first time ever players. But once it clicks it's a fun game, especially if you know someone else who is good at Clu Clu Land. It's great in 2 Player Co-Op.
Nonsense, Wii Music was one of the most ingenious games of the entire generation, and one of the only music games ever made that actually understands what music is all about (Hint: music is not about pressing buttons in time with a falling score).
Back on top, let's see... maybe DK Barrel Blast? I haven't played it, so I can't really criticize, but it certainly looks mediocre for a Nintendo title.

Mario Bros. — in somewhat altered form of course — provided endless amusement in Mario Bros. 3 when in 2-player mode. It ain't much for a single player in any form, though.

Yeah, I loved playing that game on All Stars at my friend's house as a kid. It was all of teh awesomeness! Wouldn't be worth it as single player though.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
Whenever Wii Music is criticized, anywhere on the web, a special sector of my brain is alerted instantly. In other words, several hundred times per second. It's exhausting!

@Pixelman Whats wrong with Super Paper Mario? Its an awesome game!
I don't think backtracking through barren, boring 2D levels is awesome. Neither is having to restart an entire chapter because you ran out of healing items when you got to the end of it because the inventory cap is stupidly small. >_>
Mario's missing. That's a bad one. Also Marios Time machine. Bet you never even heard of that one.

Lets see: Mario's Missing/Mario's Time Machine are two games that tricked younger me into thinking I was renting an awesome new Mario game only to find out it was educational, slow, and boring. Weekend ruined.
Wii Music had so much potential but as is it seems more like a toy then a game. Sure you can play all those instruments but there's only maybe an hours worth of game in it the rest is if you feel like trying out all the different instruments. It could have been really cool had they added about 20 more songs in each different mode.
FlingSmash I haven't played but has received some negative reviews by critics and gamers.
