A Blend of Retro( Nes, Snes, Genesis, Atari 2600, Gameboy ect. ) and Modern Nintendo(Wii, Wii U, 3DS & DS) only. Actually that's 'a lot' of only. :P B-) I will never give up modern gaming when it comes to Nintendo. But I already have when it comes to Playstation and Xbox.

I will get a Wii U next gen but not another Playstation or Xbox. As for keeping it retro, I love my NES and SNES and like my Genesis and those will always take priority over any other console.

You could just go indie, since every other indie game tries to be a retro game anyway?

This - but not for the retro style, just for innovative gaming. I've recently been enjoying games like Limbo and Braid more than anything else. I guess you can say I'm going to be a PC gamer next generation, but not necessarily the high spec games (although if one comes along I like, I'll be sure to snap it up).

On the retro side of things, I have a huge GameCube and Wii collection that I need to play through. That's the main reason I decided against the Wii U actually - I have so many GameCube games I want to beat that I'm not willing to get rid of them and I only like to own one console. Other HD consoles have put me off with DLC, DRM and online passes etc. I'm not buying into all that. With my PC I can enjoy a game like Limbo and know I'll always be able to enjoy it into the future.

If retro means focusing only on Nintendo consoles and ignoring PS Xbox and PC (the last one for lack of time) then yes... trying to do that. So like others have said. A blend of Nintendo and retro. And I guess some smartphone stuff is inevitable but I see it as a different thing altogether not true gaming.

No...I mean it actually depends on the person, usually the older you are, the more difficult it is to adapt to a rapidly evolving video game industry but of course it also depends on how big you were into games to begin wtih....but as for someone who didn't really get into Playstation or Xbox, besides going to a friend's house and playing previously, till late 2010...it's still a welcome change for me from the Nintendo normal i'll always be familiar with.

I think there's innovation and great experiences to be had in all categories of the gaming world and I will be happy to be part of it all both past, present and future.

Yes. I'm skipping this upcoming generation, and I might not even participate in the generation after if gaming continues on the path its headed.

I've been playing a lot of retro games this year, but that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore all the new games coming out. You can play a mix a both and be happy. :)

I like to play a lot of retro classics that I was not fortunate enough to be around when they were but I also enjoy all the modern Nintendo games so i'll most likely still be playing lots of retro games during the next generation in addition to the Wii U games.

I've been mostly modern, but have found myself looking back to learn and live Nintendo's rich past. For example, I've just played Kirby's adventure for the first time on my 3DS last week! As for getting older consoles, maybe, maybe not. It depends on my situation when I move out on my own and if there are enough games not available on virtual consoles to warrant buying them.

Biggest Smash Bros. and Pikmin fan on NL!

Pikmin fact of the week: The Pearly Clamclamps in Pikmin 1 can still attack and eat Pikmin even after being defeated. They are the only creatures in the game able to do so.

I'm probably just sticking with the Wii-U for next gen with my 3DS, but otherwise I'm sticking to the VC and older systems.

I'm also getting tired of this industry.

With the industry going the way it is (digital distribution, DRM, gaming as a service etc.) I don't see myself keeping up with it. To be honest, I'm about to call it quits here - I'll build a new PC in the next year or two, and may pick up a couple of games for it, but for the most part I'll stick with what I've already got. I'm not going to buy any more consoles.

I'm sure I'll miss out on a lot of great games but I'm getting to the point where I feel many publishers are so anti-consumer that I'm not happy to hand my money over to them. There are still a few good publishers out there, but with limited time and money I think I'll likely just keep the games I've already got and leave it at that.

All those "boycotting" the current gen or anything entertainment related are ridiculous.

Gaming tastes are so subjective, and "must have" games come out every other week, at least in someone's eyes.

I do agree that the games industry as a whole is less compelling to me personally, but that's just the nature of the demand. In transitioning from niche games appealing to a small but rabid fan base, to a vast market looking for comfortable vanilla flavors something was lost. And that's just the way it is.

I've been thinking about it a lot. Honestly I'm just not a giant fan of motion controls and I think everyone is going to start drifting that direction.
