... Regarding the history of Nintendo?

I just picked up Super Mario: How Nintendo conquered America and I've been reading it non stop for days. Really good documentation of Nintendo's birth, its rise and fall (though when it did fall from time to time, it certainly got back up.), it's battle with Sega, It's mistake that caused the Playstation to happen. My favorite story is their first legal battle against Universal Studios regarding the rights to Donkey Kong, EPIC. Either way, anyone read any other good books regarding Nintendo or video games in general? Anyone read this one? Also, this is my first post ever so, hello.

Nah, I don't have all that much interest in Nintendo with the exception of games and hardware.

However, I would love to own The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia. I love the Zelda franchise.

Looking forward to: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Yeah. I live in Australia so I would need to import it too.
Well maybe it'll come to EU/AU as well. I hope so!

It's not specific to Nintendo, but I read All Your Base Are Belong to Us. It takes you through the history of video games, and the way the guy writes about games sometimes, it makes me wonder if I've ever experienced video games as immersively as the author seemed to.

Read that one too a few weeks ago, and it was really great. If you liked that one, check out Jacked by David Kushner. It chronicles the rise Rockstar Games, GTA, the Houser brothers, and everything that accompanied those things up to the release of GTAIV. You can check out a passage from the book here, but both the passage and (maybe) the site has some explicit content on it.

Exactly.

I read my Nintendo Power magazines for all the lastest on the NES and SNES. Nester has all the bodacious tips that I cannot find anywhere else unless I call the help hotline but I don't have my parent's permisssion to spend .75 cents a minute for that.

I seriously miss the OldSchool Nintendo Power mags'....I'd definitly love to get issue #1 especially although a mint condition copy goes for quite the Popeye Penny! Not to mention that classic issue with the realistic Castlevania Artwork, the LOZ Golden Owl issue and so much more are so tempting to get just to experience and read through them all over again.

The 'New' Nintendo power however while still a fun read if you skim past the 'Gamecube baby' reader Q & A (I just can't relate to these damn kids! )just isn't the same anymore plus with the internet pumping out gaming news/guides/ect on the fly has zapped out the need to even depend on them, even though it's still fun to flip through the pages, to read exclusive articles and reviews and just seeing the actual artwork right in front of you instead of looking at a computer screen.

Anyways, I really miss the original funky front cover artwork of the old, instead of the lazy 'steal an official image and blow it up on the front page' minimal, boring and clean method of the new....It just makes them feel even less special. And ditching Nester was the worst thing they ever did! i got a yearly subscription when i got my 3DS during launch, but i haven't renewed it since. Like i said, it just isn't the same.

But i've got to say, this one was an absolute blast to read!

it was a ton of fun reading through the developer gaming memories like Mega Man's very own Inafune and many more talking about the amazing stand out memories they had playing the Nes among other little cool tid bits! Anyways, the only thing that i ever read in this day and age are you guessed it Nintendo Power and the new ArchieComics 'classic' Mega Man comic book series which are absolutely amazing. I'm not a big comic book fan, but these are too outstanding to pass up!
