It seems like alot of people don't even know they exist.
Everyone raves about the classic series and the X series even has alot of fans.
I think maybe the brutal difficulty of Zero's games just turns people away.
Unless you wuss out and use Cyber elves of course.
I've always enjoyed these games.

I LOVE the Zero series. It's really fun and challenging. Zero is such an awesome character too. The difficulty is incredibly high though. I can totally see why someone would not play the series because of it. I have to admit...even I wussed up a bit and used 2 cuber elves on the final boss of Zero 2. I will go back one day and beat him without them though to make up for it; so don't be calling me a wimp just yet. I haven't finished the whole series. I'm only on Zero 3, but I'm half way through it and have the Zero collection for DS so I'll finish the series soon. Glad to meet another fan of the awesome series.

I love the Megaman Zero series. Too bad it had to end so suddenly and tragically. People really don't know it exists?

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I recently tried out the Megaman Zero collection on DS and so far I'm really enjoying them, I'd even say they're as good as the original Megaman X games and far better than the later ones. I actually welcome the hard difficulty but the way lives are handled is a bit different.

They did fix that mission select thing for the sequels. It's more like the traditional style with the boss characters faces in little frames.
Zero 2 was my favorite I think. It had the coolest intro stage music ever!
Here's a sample.

Zero 3 was very good also. The ending battle was pretty surprising. This one might have the best story.
I love the whole series probably just as much as classic and X.

Man, that tune sounds VERY epic, can't wait to beat the first one now.

EDIT: Anyone played ZX? I'm curious to see if that's just as good.

Great series. Not sure which one is my favourite out of 2 and 3. The controls are awesome, and the story is pretty good.

I actually like the Zero series more than the classic series and the X series. There's something about dashing through a level pulling off almost impossible moves and techniques at lightning speeds that appeals to me more than being careful of where you jump. I can't quite recall which game is my favorite of the four, but I remember that MMZ4 was my least favorite of the bunch. It's still a great game, but the bosses started to get a little too ridiculous.

I even liked the ZX games quite a bit. The first one has a really fantastic intro song as well.
Gets you pumped to start blasting robots!

Yeah I love this song!
The ZX games feel like they really are part of the zero series. You can even get a form that looks exactly like Zero!

Well if you'd rather not listen to that song make sure you get the game at some point.
It's definitely a winner!

@ Waveboy.
Oh okay that's cool. I still have my GBA carts. I was curious if the collection version has any extras making it worth a purchase? All I know about is the unlockable art galleries.

Yeah those boss names in the Zero series sure are tongue twisters.
I remember being really confused when MM X5 came out.
The bosses being named after members of Gun's n Roses was just weird.
I miss the days when the names made sense.

I think the names of the bosses in Zero 2 are much easier to remember. Zero 3's names get king of ridiculous again though. The green kid's name is Harupia, btw Waveboy. The red one is fighting Fefner. (wow a name that actually rolls right off the tongue. )
I heard 4 is the easiest of the 4 so that's probably why it isn't liked as much. I'm playing through Zero 3 still right now and it's really hard. I'm on the sunken library stage. It's starting to get a bit annoying dieing here.
The collection is a nice game just so you can have all the games in one convenient place. Besides the art gallery it has some things you can unlock that will change things in Zero 3. I think that's everything new though.

These games are quite frustrating at times but still fun.
You really should get around to playing the rest of them.
They get better in the sequels.
Not sure why you hated the ZX games.
Aside from being less linear they seem very similar to me.
Even the enemy designs and art style are the same.
Zero 4 even kinda leads into ZX but since you haven't played that one yet I don't wanna spoil it.
It's cool though if you just couldn't get into ZX.
It's No big deal. To each their own.

Well I hope you like the other Zero games.
Zero 2 is a little harder than the first but that's to be expected with the sequels.
I thought the music in 2 was better. The stages are more varied also.
In the first game it seemed like alot of the stages were just repeats.
Anyway have fun.

Just played Zero 2 for a couple of hours, and right off the bat this one even 1-ups the difficulty in the already super challenging original. I'm still stuck on the first Robot Master stage, which takes place in some tropical forest where you go toe to toe with a super colorful purple slithering Robo Snake warrior Reploid muhaha.

I actually thought he was the easiest boss in the whole game. I can beat him in under a minute.

I'm right in the middle of attempting to S rank Zero 3.
Now that's a pain in the rear!

It takes alot of repeated attempts and memorizing stages and enemy layouts to get through with S ranks.
I've been watching youtube videos to get an idea how to tackle each stage.
It ain't easy that's for sure.

Check out this Godly performance from one of the video guides I used. (spoilers if you haven't played it)
Skip ahead to about 50 seconds for the start of the stage.

Amazing huh? What a show off.
I always have trouble with that boss but this guy makes him look like a joke.
