I absolutely love M VS DK on the GBA it is one of those few games that I actually sat from start to finish getting full 100% without it feeling like a chore and without putting down and playing another game to come back to it later. Usually I start a game, enjoying it, then buy something new start playing that then lose where I was on the 1st game...

M Vs DK was just a delight to play and I have been wanting that again for some time.
I just started March of the Minis or whatever it is and although its good and I am enjoying I want a true sequel to M Vs DK...

Anyone else feel the same?
Anyone played a game that resembles or touched on what the orig M Vs DK was like?

Have you tried the Game Boy Donkey Kong (Nicknamed Donkey Kong '94) on 3DS VC? It's pretty much the same thing as Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, and it's also a great game! I need to play through Mario Vs. Donkey Kong though. I got it for 3DS from the ambassador program but I haven't played it much. Playing it is kind of nostalgic as well because I used to play it my brothers GBA years ago. I don't think I was ever able to beat it.

Yoshi

Donkey Kong for the Game Boy. Has identical gameplay to Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Mario even has some of the moves he had on the GBA, like the sideways somersault. Consider giving it a whirl.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

They did make sequels I thought, they were available as dsiware and on the 3ds eshop: Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March again and Mario and Donkey Kong: MInis on the move.

Well, only sort of. The originals could be thought of as puzzle platformers, but all of the sequels since the GBA version have been straight up puzzle games.

I love DK 94 and the first Mario v. Donkey Kong then at some point someone decided it was better to turn the series into a generic Lemmings clone... I really hate whoever came with that idea

Totally agreed on this point. The Minis-focused games are ok, but i really wish they'd go back to the DK94/MvsDK style.

I haven't played the DS ones, but the GBA Mario VS DK is really awesome. I love all the tricks and maneuvers you can pull off and all the clever puzzles and things you have to figure out in each level. I recently finished the main story and am now plowing through the plus stages. Really enjoyed it so far, I'm interested in trying out the DS versions as well and seeing the change of pace and play style between versions first hand. Up to this point all I've seen of the DS ones are the trailers and one or two gameplay videos.
