I know that expecting Nintendo to release those Japan exclusive Fire Emblem games seems unlikely and all but let's think about this for one minute.
We just had the first Mother game in the west and then we had mysterious castle also for the west. Seeing as how Fire Emblem is so much better than before, do you think we can get those Japan only games in the west.
I really.....really want to get Genealogy of the holy war. I played it on an emulator and I stopped it halfway because its too good that it needs to be played on a console.....
I doubt that they'd go through the trouble of localising such old games (particularly ones as text-heavy as the Fire Emblem games). Plus, I don't think that they'd aged particularly well, given the high standard that newer games have set.
Perhaps they'll issue remakes of past games, but I can't see Nintendo retroactively translating the original NES/SNES roms.
@arronishere: The DS Remake is based on the NES one....I'd like Genealogy of Holy war....something that the remake I don't think has does it?
Still, Genealogy of Holy war has a really deep story that deserves to be localized. I mean, what's the reason of not bringing those titles to begin with.
It'll probably be a lot more work than Nintendo would like to do with it, especially if they're just gonna port it to the VC. I think the best chances of seeing the old, Japan only FE games would be through a collection or a Remake like Shadow Dragon

There was also a DS remake of Mystery of the Emblem (FE3, the first SNES game), which itself was half remake/half sequel to the first game. But unfortunately Nintendo never translated that version either (as it sounds like Shadow Dragon sold poorly and wasn't in high demand until well after it was out of print). We'd probably have only a slightly better chance (still unlikely) of Nintendo resolving that for VC.
I think the only Japan only FE game that has any chance of being localized is Binding Blade (the only GBA FE game not in the west) and that's because of Roy's popularity in Smash. But even that I'd say is about as likely as Mother 3 localization.
You mean localized or you mean just re-released in Japan? I feel like Nintendo may end up doing some VC for the older FE games at some point since the series is off Life Support. But leaving the land of the rising sun? Nope.

I know both Famicom FE games are on Japanese 3DS, and I wouldn't be surprised if the SFC and GBA games were on Wii U.
Otherwise the only 3DS VC FE for the west is Sacred Stones (one of the Ambassador games).
@Ryu_Niiyama@KingMike All of the first 8 Fire Emblem games have been released on Wii U VC. Although I don't think either of the DS ones are available yet.
@Megas75 Ya, I too think that the only way more previous Fire Emblem games would be released in the West is most likely through a remake. I never thought about a collection, but that could also work well. And now I really want one haha.
