The SF certainly looks better than the SNES, but the original Famicom was just so... purple and candy-filled.

Edit: omg I just found the greatest thing ever.

I really want this.

That does look like a good looking GBASP. I'm sure it costs a fortune.
Edit: Only $300!

I still have the Super Famicom I imported back before the Super NES was released in the US. I don't care for the North American redesign of the system. The Super Famicom and European Super Nintendo consoles were much cooler looking.

Did you know that Nintendo redesigned the US Super Nintendo console due to the Super Famicom's top being so flat. They were afraid US gamers would place their drinks on top of the console, thus inviting spills into it.

Plain old gamer :)

StarBoy91

Wow. Really? I never knew that.
Guess that explains the redesigned console.

I don't mind either.

Also, looks like Corbie has donned the lil' reaper dude avatar again

Yeah, the Jap. version, the PAL version, and the American look all just as good.

Oh, and the "lil' grim reaper dude" is Gregg the Grim Reaper (from Conker's Bad Fur Day).

Personally, I prefered the Artsy Ghost avatar that he had a while ago.

That Game Boy Advance SP that NotEnoughGolds showed us looks like a portable FamiCom (more or less), or a FamiCom controller.

Actually, I like the design for the new SNES that BassX0 has shown as well, even though I'm not very fond of it as much as the old NTSC SNES.
But, to each his own.
All SNES models look just as good.

I wonder why they changed it to concave and convex buttons for the NTSC release?

Guess I've no reason to complain, seeing as I'm fond of the NTSC controller too.

Making one via MS Paint was a fun challenge.
It also happens to be in my current avatar. :3
Is it just me, or this avatar not as cute as my past ones? =(

Umm...it WAS, though. In America, anyway. I wouldn't know about Europe.

Huh. I don't know anything about that one then. I thought it was just a prototype design that never got released. I never heard of that one before.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

IlikeVideoGames

I did not care what it looked like because it was such a great system and mine had the Super Gameboy with it. I played so many great games on that system.

I had the smaller, newer SNES model. Personally, I like the redesigned US SNES the most!

That redesigned one is my personal favorite! Really? That didn't discourage them from making the GCN and Wii flat-topped!

I'm still surprised at the knowledge as to why the SNES was redesigned for NA.
