Looking at getting some replacement n64 controllers as I'm not competent to simply replace the stick. I've found the following two brands and was wondering if anyone has had experience with either, or if there are any other suggestions

Tomee

So are either of these any good?

The only 3rd party controller worth it to me is the Hori.

I think I got that second one, and it was horrid. But, then again, that's a super generic design, so mine might be different.

Yeah, guitars are cool.

My musical project Comet Tail made a couple of recordings.

I would, but what one Hori would cost me would get me 6 of these

The few things places that I've seen mention that brand, say it isn't very good, but then the unhappiest people usually are the most vocal

I have the Tomee one. It feels good, but it didn't take very long for me to realize that/it to happen that the control stick registers movement that it shouldn't. (i.e. Mario keeps walking to the right whenever I move the control stick away from or back to the center.) I don't know if all those controllers have that problem, but it certainly speaks to a lack of reliability.

Yeah I think I read about that in a couple of places too, so yours isn't the only one. Disappointed there aren't any reliable and affordable 3rd party controllers out there.

@shaneoh I'm disappointed their were never any reliable 1st party N64 controllers! They wore out so fast. Though I wasn't nice to them, with Super Smash Bros. and all.

why not replace the stick? even though the after-market sticks are not as good as the originals, all these 3rd party controllers (except Hori) are much worse

This.
Basically all the 3rd party controllers for N64 are rubbish.

She-Ra is awesome. If you believe otherwise, you are clearly wrong.

Do Not Speak Such Blasphemy! BLASTCORPS RULES YOU!

And yeah, Hori controllers can be overpriced, but that's because they're pretty much the only 3d party Ninty controllers (in my experience, at least) that are quality.
