1) First got my SNES: Playing Super Mario World on the SNES at a friends birthday who had just got it. Then the next day working out a deal with my mom to get my own!

2) First got my Gameboy: Waking up on Christmas morning to my Gameboy along with Super Mario Land. I went through so many AA batteries in the first week of Christmas break alone! If you had a a Gameboy you know what I am talking about

3) First got my NES: Bought the NES along with sister with money we saved from our paper route and we were like one of the last people I knew to get one. haha

4) Mega Man: Playing Mega Man 2 and sucking at it all the while enjoying the heck out of it. Then Mega Man 3 came out and had my mom go around town to rent it for me so I could suck at that one too!

5) Street Fighter II: Spent more time with that game with the local neighborhood kids then any other video game. 2nd place would go to Super Mario Kart. Probably pretty similar to most kids at this time I imagine.

6) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: I remember the trip to pick the game up like it was yesterday. I finally saved up enough money (games were $60 to 75 back then) and remember the drive with my mom to pick that game up. I was so excited to get that game and I played that game all that time. I need to get that game CIB again.

7) A Link to the Past: Though technically not my favorite game (that honor belongs to Super Castlevania IV) no other game can match the strong nostalgia factor attached to A Link to the Past.

8) Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball: I spent a lot of time with Griffey and the hometown Mariners dominating other MLB teams.

9) 2 player NES Co-op: I have so many great memories playing games like Super C, Rush-n-Attack, Rampage with the neighborhood kids. I still even enjoy it today when I am hanging out with one of my childhood friends.

10) Final Fantasy II: I spent so much time on this RPG as a kid and it was one of my first big RPG experiences other than the NIntendo Power Dragon Warrior special. I never finished it though. Heck, I did not finish many NES and SNES games as a kid but I love going back now and completing all these retro classics

1.) Getting an NES for Christmas in 1991. I was a teen by 1991 and it was a sweet moment.

2.) My younger brother and I having a competition on beating Ninja Gaiden 2 in least amount of time using game genie. The goal was to beat the game at such a low time that the other person wouldn't be able to beat that time.

3.) My parents won renting a Nes and a couple games for free by getting their name picked. It happen in February 1991. My Younger and I own played the Nes for the weekend. My parents had more younger brother and I pick games from another video rental place besides the 2 Nes games that came with the Nes.

4.) I finally became an owner Snes in 2000. It was big deal for me because it was the system I made a mistake years earlier turning down the chance to get a snes back in 1994 for Christmas.

5.) I bought myself a Gameboy Color. It was a big deal because the truth was when I was a teen, I couldn't hand a handheld system because of the eye drops I was. Gameboy and Game Gear were systems that tried out as a teen, but they gave my eyes problems.

6.) The first time I played Wii Sports on the Wii. Wii Sports was the first game I played on the Wii. It was a different experience playing a game than I am accustomed to.

7.) Getting a GBA in 2001.

8.) Beating Super Mario Bros. It was the first game I beaten on a Nes system.

9.) Getting a DS in 2006.

10.) Beating Ninja Gaiden without Game Genie.

1. Waiting for my sister to go to school so I could play on her new NES, only to find that she'd hidden the controllers.
2. Playing WWF Wrestlemania then subsequently having fake wrestling bouts with my friends over and over.
3. Seeing Donkey Kong Country at a friend's house and never ever arguing about which was better - the SNES or Megadrive ever again.
4.Playing 4 player Goldenye all of the freakin time and usually winning. Except when girls were present, then playing Mario Kart and purposefully not winning.
5. Driving from town to town on Zelda OOT launch day trying to find a copy, and finally finding one.
6. Making loads of mates at uni by owning an N64, Perfect Dark and 4 controllers.
7. Buying a Wii, playing Wii Sports and imagining unbound possibilities for motion gaming
8. Being transported into another world with Twillight Princess
9. Playing Mario Kart Wii with all the family at Christmas
10. Introducing Zelda OOT to my 10 year old cousin and going through the Deku Tree together

1) Getting my first NES at Woolco and bringing it home and setting down the ground rules for it to my older brother. I charged him 50 cents a week to play it, lol.
2) Mum taking me to the mall to buy SMB2 and then to the theatre to see The Wizard.
3) Playing Tengen Tetris at my friend's house. She told me to pause the game and hit UUDDLRLRBA, and I thought she was pulling my leg because that was the Contra code — imagine my shock when I unpaused the game and the Tetris piece I was so desperately needing appeared!
4) Getting my mum to drive me across the city to Toys R Us to pick up my Game Boy (I had found one nearby at Consumers Distributing, but it had a defective column of pixels and I wasn't willing to live with that). Then playing Tetris the whole weekend till the batteries died.
5) Video linking on Tetris during class with this kid Miguel. The funniest was in science class when the teacher turned out the lights for us to watch a video, and we sat in the back of the class with our heads down over our laps, hiding our Game Boys under our desks and trying to catch the slightest glimmer of light through the windows behind us (which the teacher had pulled down the blinds on). I don't know how we managed to even see anything, lol. I think I won.
6) Leaving my NES on all weekend to finally beat Bionic Commando!
7) Buying my GBA SP right before a really boring scientific conference that I didn't really want to attend. I sat in the back and played WarioWare the whole time, and didn't care what anyone thought of me.
8) Finally finding a Wii, and going to the store with my hands shaking in disbelief when I actually saw it in stock. When I walked out in the parking lot after there were these two young kids in the back of their car with their faces pressed up against the window looking at the box like it was the best candy in the Universe. I felt kind of guilty for a moment, but then I remembered going through similar moments as a child, so I decided it was just their lousy turn to be young and have to suffer the horror of not being able to buy any toy you wanted.
9) Getting my 3DS a day early after the store I pre-ordered it at broke the street date. I walked home looking over my shoulder the whole way expecting someone to come running after me.
10) 3DS Ambassador program (Okay, we only got the news today, but I have a feeling I will remember this fondly for a while).

Top ten is pretty hard but my #1 moment was when I was beating Fire Red on GBA. My heart was beating really fast .
Since I don't have any more I can think of right now I have a Sonic memory to make up for it. I would play the Sonic R cd in my cd player and run around the house when I was little.

10) Playing my sister's Game Boy at the backseat of the car during those long vacation trips to France...
9) ...and eventually getting one myself.
8) Winning a Camecube in an online prize draw, which was bundled with Mario Smash Football, only to have my sister get addicted to it rather than myself.
7) Picking up the GBA SP and wondering how I could have ever enjoyed portable gaming without a backlit screen.
6) Realizing the amazing potential of touch screen gameplay after buying the Nintendo DS.
5) Picking up a second-hand copy of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for GBA, thus starting my love for Zelda.
4) Getting a Wii with Wii Sports and Super Mario Galaxy, which is the best 3D platformer I ever played.
3) Playing through Pokémon Red Version for the first time ever. Being able to actually catch, trade, collect and train your very own Pokémon, just like on TV, was an awesome experience.
2) Picking up The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and discovering that they had the limited edition with the Ocarina of Time bonus disc bundled with it. Heck, Ocarina turned out to be even more awesome than Wind Waker and even had the special Master Quest edition included. To me, Ocarina is the best game ever, even though it's not my single most nostalgic moment ever! That honour belongs to:
1) Playing through Pokémon Gold Version for the first time ever... and being in awe at how much content there could be in a portable game and how much of an improvement a sequel can be. Months I had waited and, by God, it had been worth every minute. The new Pokémon added to the series were still awesome in this first-ever in a long line of sequels! Back in those days we had Typhlosion and Tyranitar instead of abominations like Klink or Vanillite kids grow up with today.

1. Banging on the NES console to get it to turn on... and that actually worked
2. Being SOOO disappointed that I got Donkey Kong Country for Christmas instead of the Lion King game... and then forgetting all about LK completely after the first 15 minutes of DKC
3. Screaming for dad to get the video camera when I defeated Bowser in Super Mario World.
4. Beating my dad's time trial ghost in Super Mario Kart, Mushroom Cup Mario Circuit 1.
5. Telling my husband (then boyfriend) that I'm "sort of good" at gaming, and then kicking his --- at everything we played.
6. Visiting cousins on the other side of the country, with whom I had nothing in common, until they brought out GoldenEye N64
7. Playing through Glitzville in PM: TTYD for the first time
8. ... actually, every aspect of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (except the Puny music)
9. Mario Party 5-7, and the tears of laughter.
10. Buying my Wii, Christmas 2007. Every store had been sold out for months... I happened to walk into an HMV in the mall to ask when their next shipment would be, knowing they wouldn't tell me... and then the clerk pointed to two boxes left behind me. Me and the guy standing behind me (who was buying a set of headphones) both bolted for them, just as a wave of people entered the store.... I came out of the ruckus beaming just as hubby was checking what all the commotion was about.

caityful

1. Not having big enough hands to hit both the B and the right directional button on the plus-pad of the original GameBoy with my thumbs.
2. Donkey Kong Land 2 on that system at my friend's house every week.
3. "Sipper Smash Brush?" on the N64.
4. Getting my Dandelion Yellow GameBoy Color and Disney's Tarzan for Christmas 1998.
5. Beating the Pokemon League in Pokemon Crystal in the middle of the shopping centre, dropping to my knees in disbelief after 100+ hours.
6. Picking up Animal Crossing: Wild World for $5, expecting it to be terrible - Finding myself addicted to fishing and selling sea shells by the sea shore ever since. And meeting my now best friend after realising we both played AC:WW.
7. Pokemon HeartGold on the DS - One of my favourite remakes of any game.
8. Mario Kart parties on the Wii (finally more than 2 players!)
9. Starting a neat retro collection: NES, SNES, N64, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, GBM + various games. (Not a virtual boy in sight!)
10. Winning one of ten original DS systems from a drawing competition.

Incoming walls of text.

1) Beating my first game, no help, no warp zones, no picking up a game some one else had played that was saved right before the final boss. All me. And it was a difficult one too, Donkey Kong Country 2. I shouted my lungs out in delight... I miss when beating a game was a big deal to me. I only did that again for Diddy Kong Racing, and Super Mario 64. Every other game is either a somewhat quiet "Yeaaayuh" or sitting there stone faced.

2) Buying my Wii. I had saved up money for months trying to get it... keep in mind I was paid as a paperboy and only set aside 50 dollars a month. Remember when the Wii first came out? Remember? It was so freaking hard to find one. I remember clearly, that my mom just burst into my room "RYAN RYAN Wake up! They got Wiis at Target!" I snorted and struggled to get my pants on while grabbing my money. As it turns out, every morning before work, my mom had been calling all the stores in town asking if they had Wiis in stock without me knowig... so sweet of her. It turned out to be the best system I ever owned, if only for having backwards compatibility with my gamecube and a vast selection of Virtual Console games.

3) Sonic the Hedgehog arrived on Nintendo consoles. I friggin love the Sonic Series, but I never owned a Genesis. I hadn't played a Sonic game since I was 8, and my Aunt still owned a Sega Genesis. I really started missing the series. When SA2 Hit the Gamecube, and brought with it Sonic's ENTIRE Genesis Library, AND Sonic Advance 1, AKA, the TRUE Sonic 4, it felt like I was re-united with an old friend. In addition to that, one of my best friendships I ever had was formed over the blue blur's first gamecube outing.

4) Pokemon's debut. My 2nd best friendship was forged over another series. Pokemon. No, that's a lie. He approached me because he heard me mimicking Mario Kart 64 voices, but it was Pokemon that brought us together. I had started watching the anime early mornings before school, and oh man something about it just sucked me right in. Before long I was looking at pictures and magazines stuff at school. I didn't expect anyone to care. But my friend, who loves trucks and machines above all else, took one look at Blastoise, and fell in love at the sight of those twin back cannons. He bought Pokemon Blue shortly after and I got Red shortly after him We started our Pokemon games around the same time. I beleive we may have battled once or twice... We traded back and fourth till we had all starteds when I had to get my stolen game replaced. And every morning we would geek out about the new pokemon episode we watched before school. Those were some happy times.

5) Super Smash Bros. I was a picky kid. Picky picky picky. I wouldn't play a damn thing that didn't in some way relate to Mario or Pokemon, unless it was just laying around the house, and even then, I rarely stuck with it. Then Smash Bros came and exposed me to Metroid, Zelda, Starfox, Kirby, EarthBound, and F-Zero characters. I hunted down all those different series and enjoyed the heck out of them, and ever since, I have been a much more open minded gamer... though the way I favor Nintendo could still have me labeled as picky, I now know the kind of games I like, and many companies outside of Nintendo can, and have, replicated that feeling.

6) Power Star no. 120 in Super Mario 64. When I was little, it took me a long time to beat games. Not only was I not as good as I am today, but a lot less focused on the goal. I would sometimes backtrack in games for no apparent reason, put the character in different situations to see if they react, sometimes just stare for a really long time at the character's 3D model or sprite, admiringly, and just explore every possible nook and cranny in the level without worrying too much about the goal at hand. When did the sun pour down from the red wing cap switch level? When you got 10 stars? That probably took me two weeks somehow. I was such a weird player, spending hours roaming and jumping around random things interacting as much as I can with the environment, and beating every enemy in the level to a pulp. In order for me to have to do the actual goal required of me in the level, I'd have to have gotten bored with just running around. I even went back to get old stars I already got. I probably got that last star on Rainbow Ride after a good year and a half. Maybe more. I felt so accomplished. Today I'd get bored easy and just focus on my goals, completing the game in a week, maybe 3 days if I didn't take breaks. I miss that feeling from so long ago...

7) Super Mario Beanies. I don't know why I loved them so much. In Nintendo Power, they were selling Mario, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong dolls. They look really poor compared to dolls made nowadays ( I do prefer the bean stuffing as opposed to the cotton most commonly found in plushies ). But one December I see a full box of them at Target. I lose my mind because there was one that wasn't in the magazine, and it happened to be my favorite character. Bowser. I was suprised to hear my brother say "pick one out for christmas!" ...he was really mean to me when we were younger, and not much older than me, but with his own money, he bought me that Bowser Beanie. And I cherished it. I got a phone call from my dad and I told him I got it. I told him im gonna try to get the others and he said "Don't worry about them" ...I thought he was just being mean because he tended to say mean things about my love for Nintendo stuff when I was a kid. But as it turns out, he actually bought the other 3 beanies that were being sold in my Magazine for christmas. I lost most of them... since it was probably almost 11 years ago now. But I still have that Bowser... I bought a bigger and better Bowser Plush from an anime con, but I still keep that little floppy one my Brother got me as a reminder of the memory. The Bowser plush resembles the 3D Model in the orignal Suepr Mario 64, so it's kind of unique, lol.

8) Dressing up as Mario, Link, Luigi, Snake, and Ness on Halloween I guess. Three seperate halloweens of course. I'm going to be Link again this year, but this time it's the NES one. A left over cosplay. ... Not much to say here. I love cosplaying. I was Ness for a midnight Release of Super Smash Bros Brawl. The flier encouraged you to come dressed as your favorite character. Only my friend and I dressed up, though somebody wore an Ash Ketchum hat... I met another MOTHER fan there. He was pretty cool... I think I was sonic once, a long long time ago, but that was before he came to Nintendo, and it was a crappy store bought costume, so it doesn't count.

9) Making Fan art. Finding Fan art. It's too bad I never quite made it to 500 characters, but I set a goal to draw 500 vidya game characters and post them all online, I met a lot of friendly Nintendo fans that way. I quit around the 300 something mark.

10) Sonic Joins the Brawl. I remember this morning so well... I woke up in such a grouchy mood. Like. Seriously I wanted to stay in bed and hope everyone outside my bed would just die. It was raining out, and I'd soon have to ride to class on my bike through that rain. I waited hours last night for them to update the Smash Bros Dojo, and at 3AM they still hadn't done it. so I just went to bed. So I checked it first thing in the morning, expecting another lame "How to play" update. Instead I saw a "Warning. Challenger approaches" banner, and thought "OH GREAT. Who is it this time!? Another stupid Fire Emblem Character? " and instead was greeted by good ol' Sonic. Jaws dropped, yeahs were shouted, videos were watched 3 times. My entire day was made and nothing brought me down. Say what you will about his performance in Brawl and the series in general, I will likely give no cares because they were both awesome to me.

You know what my least favorite Nintendo moment was? At age 5 or 6, I had a box of Super Mario Bros. 3 cookies that I ate in bed, only to be awoken the next morning covered in ants.
