What are your top favorite PC games? You can list as many as you want.
My List:
10. Open Arena - It's Quake 3 Arena with more flair and lots of fan service. I couldn't ask for more. 9. Supreme Commander 2 - Big Mechs = Epic Win 8. Dawn of War 2 Gold - The best singleplayer in an RTS ever. Multiplayer pales in comparison to its predecessor, mut makes up for it with Last Stand. 7: Dawn of War Platinum - Lots of classes and loads of gore and flair. 6. Command & Conquer 3 - My First RTS and still may favorite. It has everything I could ask for from an RTS with lots of strategic options and 3 diverse classes. 5. Civilization - a classic, albeit somewhat dated Strategy game 4. Masters of Orion - Streamlines Civ's formula and adds a lot of things on its own, such as greater deplomacy options and the design of your own ships. 3. Princess Maker 2 - an awesome game where you try and groom your daughter into the perfect Princess. Or a house maid. Or a prostitute, or a warrior, or the devil, or whatever else you want. So long as you guide her correctly. 2. Portal - An awesome Puzzle game with loads of charm. I don't think I need to say much about this one. 1. Cave Story - One of the most fun games I've ever played. Well rounded with an intriguing story, fun action platforming with adventure elements
Deus Ex Unreal Tournament 2004 System Shock 2 Warcraft III Starcraft Doom Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind Half-Life 2 Team Fortress 2 Civilization IV Amnesia the Dark Descent Myst Star Wars: Jedi Knight
I cannot really order them, or remember all of them, but here it goes -Unreal Tournament -Braid -Civilization IV -Altitude -Half Life 2 -Indigo Prophecy -Max payne -Battlefield 2142 -Portal -Minecraft
That about sums it up I believe. Oh, Starcraft 2 (never got into the first, but had to when all of my friends, except one, bought the second one).
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
Starcraft 1 & 2 Civilization Star Trek Voyager Elite Force Star Trek Online Portals Worms Armageddon
Honorable Mentions: Gorillas/Nibbles Tank Wars/Scorched Earth Sim Tower Microsoft Entertainment Package games (Chip's Challenge, Ski Free, Pipe Dream, etc) Ascendancy SBCG4AP Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 (Best Custom Installer ever) Dino Park Tycoon (It lets you put a T-Rex in a wooden picket fence and not feed it.)
All of the Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape, Neverwinter Nights, etc games. All of the SSI D&D games. All of the Mechwarrior/Battletech games. The Bards Tale series. Most of the Wizardry games. The Fallout games and Wasteland.
Once upon a time I would have said Diablo (both) and Starcraft 1, but since I've kicked the habit (and Blizzard) to the curb, I won't put them on this list.
Wow, I never really played many memorable games on the PC. We tended to have pretty weak computers that couldn't run anything. However, the games that I have played and absolutely love are:
Monkey Island (All of them) Relentless Warcraft 3 Worms Reloaded!
Since I haven't played many, I'll just list all the PC games I've played that I love.
The Sims Sim City Portal World of Goo Call of Duty 4 (Don't own this, just played a friend's copy extensively) Cave Story Age of Empires (same deal as CoD4) Star Wars Battlefront I & II
Gah, I forgot about VVVVVV and Unreal Tournament. And Starcraft, I guess. The Mech Warrior and Mech Commander series are also very good games, too. I could never get into the Buldar's Gate series or Fallout...except for Fallout 3, how did I forget that?! Wizardry and Torchlight are also fun. Not to mention the Warcraft RTSes and Diablo. I love Bio Shock, but I have it for the Xbox 360. Still, I was hoping someone would list it. I should try Ascendency, and all of the Command & Conquer games are great IMO. I wish I could've gotten into System Shock, but it's just too hard.
I also forgot to mention Majesty 1, and its Northern expansion. I enjoyed that game, although it was very difficult. No One Lives Forever 1/2 as well, both games were terrific FPS games.
I can't really put them into order but here goes anyway:
Fallout 2
Team Fortress 2
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Borderlands
Age of Empires 1 & 2
Warcraft III
Darksiders
Mass Effect
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 and those are all that I can remeber right now even though there are many others that I will play through someday (like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Beyond Good & Evil).
I guess since it's on my Mac, it technically does not count, but Braid is absolutely fantastic. Very beautiful game, with very tight level design. And I love the Mario references The paint like visuals are great as well. This is one of my fav. games. I absolutely love seeing a lot of creativity in games.
And Yet It Moves is a great game. While as far as audio goes its a bit empty, the great level design and concept paired with the awesome art style makes this a good buy no matter which platform.
I liked portal. Very fun, original game. At time I was just hoping it would go over the top with the concept. Never really did for me, but it looks like Portal 2 will be amazing.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 Command & Conquer: The First Decade Plants vs. Zombies Ther wars also an older fighter jet game i used to play on our old windows 98 pc and Runescape
Currently Playing:
Yakuza: Like A Dragon
