I dont like random encounters in games either, unless they are quick paced and mostly far between like in Final Fantasy VI. I dont like it when it happens every 5 steps or so and you waste a whole minute or more watching animated slideshows (ie Pokemon)

The thing that anoys me most is the cutscene that would never end. You know what I mean! When the game is rolling text so slowly you could mow the lawn in the time it takes for one letter to appear. Desperate to continue you hit A rapidly but to your dismay it does nothing! You try all the other buttons BUT THE STUPID TEXT STILL WON'T SCROLL FASTER!!! You chunk your gameboy into the wall and id cracks to pieces. Whoever first progamed a game to scroll text slowly should be shot!

Hmm...
-Slow paced RPG battles
-Missables
-Locked difficulty levels in long games
-Backtracking where new skills aren't utilized, or provide little impact
-Poor controls
-Poorly balanced difficulty
-Significant situations based entirely on luck
and something completely annoying but not entirely bad
-Great music tracks in games that aren't played much ingame

  • Hackers who make online play no fun
  • Online players who disconnect if they're losing (Usually seconds before the game ends)
  • Lack of difficulty
  • Arguing that online leaderboards enhance replay value tremendously, even though many people can't get on one in the first place (mostly due to hackers)
  • Games that have to be replayed in order to unlock extra content
  • Random encounters in RPGs
  • Forced stealth sequences in games that are usually based around action
