A great looking console for the mainstream people who do a bit of gaming. The entertainment, ea sports games, and CoD are really all the mainstream wants. The presentation was definitely tailored towards them. However, if I pick up a second next gen console other than Wii U, it will be the PS4.

I don't care for TV or the music part. I'm glad it's coming out this year though. I think the console looks cool. It looks like an NES, the camera is cool, and the controller is better.
The only thing Xbox has over Nintendo is Kinect, but Nintendo has the Wii remote.
Smartglass is the GamePad, and the only thing Xbox One will have is better graphics.
I'm getting it day one. We'll just have to see what Nintendo does prior to these consoles' releases before judging the entire situation.
Nintendo will be fine.

crazy how you guys hate this while the tech blogs (non gaming) and mainstream press liveblogs are eating this stuff up.

this somehow means less to me than Kotaku's opinion.

Though, I'm totally not surprised at this and it's probably Xbox's best chance to stay relevant so...shrugs

Which means nothing how we feel since history has shown that Gamers wants usually don't pan out with the mass market. Also what do you mean stay Relevant?

Yeah, that's pretty much a given at this point, but guess who actually buy games on consoles? Gamers. They can sell all the Maddens and Call of Duty's they want, but if no one else can make a buck on the system, what good is it?

And I'm assuming kkslider meant staying in the eyes and conciousness of the mainstream public?

My uncle owns an xbox for the media functions. Only games he has are a downloadable chess game and the Walking dead, other than them he only uses it for ESPN and the apps.

Overall a good conference with an evident different focus than Sonys. i think getting all of this mundane stuff is actually a good thing come E3. SOny is going to have to manage showing PS3/VITA/PS4 games plus the PS4 interface during their E3 presser. Microsoft can just go all in the games.

Well.. That was awful :/

Xbox One, awful name.
Looks like a DVD player.
Based around voice recognition and Kinect, just.. awful
No game to show of what the system can do.
New COD and EA sports games were very underwhelming.
... Short event, really really short.

I didn't really think I'd like it. But this was just.. Bad. Also, "it'll update your friends so that they can see what you're enjoying and they're not". I know it wasn't intentional, but that sentence can make anyone sound like an ass.

Ps4 it is.

Suprisingly, the conference made me excited for the PS4. And I wasn't before.

-Wii Motes aren't the focus of the console and aren't being mandatory for developers
-I would agree with that but featurewise One > U. Plus the boon of only needing your phone or tablet

Nintendo needs to get over Third party relations problem. Also the first year of Wii U is going to look worse when were hearing 13 exclusives ith 8 being new IP.

Hope to see Nintendo Strike Back at E3.

It was a weird presentation to me, tons of sports-based media, a neat kinect-operated way to control TV (though I'd rather not blurt out tv channels all the time), and a weird live-action intro to a new exclusive.

But seriously, way too much sports stuff. Also 15 exclusives coming but no mention of a few other than one? And I'm personally not a fan of the Xbox One name. Kinda meh.

Overall not a bad presentation, it just focused on too many things at a time, I think.

I just want to say I wasn't a fan of the PS4's reveal, either, though I'm starting to respect it a bit more after this one. The Wii U reveal wasn't good, either...what is with this generation and poorly done reveals?

PS4's reveal focused on games a lot more than this One reveal, which made it better imo. This xbox reveal focused more on features and performance. I think E3 will help both systems get on their feet more.

WTF? Did they learn nothing from the sheer apathy at the reveal of the PS4? We don't want a 360 with better graphics alone! There is literally nothing compelling about the Xbox One or the PS4 whatsoever.

The only console I'll be purchasing this gen is a Wii U, and that's because you can actually count on Nintendo to release good games. Sony and Microsoft? Not so much. I'm tired of Halo, Forza, and Fable. I'm tired of Killzone, Infamous, and Uncharted. I'm tired of everyone but Nintendo ignoring their own legacy like it's something they know they can never live up to. Square Enix can't make a Final Fantasy VII remake because they haven't made a better game since
(they said it). Naughty Dog can't make another Jak and Daxter game because they feel they'd be violating the artistic integrity with too much change. And where can Halo possibly go from here? All the while we know Nintendo is going to go right on continuing to improve Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Smash Bros. Nintendo wins...

Last generation's reveals were just as bad as this generation. Maybe even worse.

It's all opinions, of course.

That's a good question. All of the big three's newest console reveals have been quite lackluster. Rather sad really...

Actually, one thing I do really like is the box itself. I've always hated how consoles are these crazy shapes and colours and look more like toys. I just want something I can slide into an entertainment unit and preferably be able to stack another device on top of it.

Honestly what were you guys expecting? It had already been confirmed this was about features and E3 was going to be the Games story, followed by the developer story at BUILD13.

I mean chances are sony is going to have a conference similar to this one with nothing but system features, We saw content fromfour first/second parties
(Turn 10, MSLA, Remedy, 343i).

Most surprising was the Halo TV show. I was expecting when 343 came up for Halo 2 remake or a downloadable series similar to spartan ops.

Also noticed that 343i has alot of high profile female gamers which is awesome.

Then why does PS4 have Move? Saying Wii remote is irrelevant is saying Move is irrelevant. I also don't have a smart phone or tablet, so ya, the GamePad comes packed in with the Wii U. I won't need a tablet or smartphone for connectivity.
I also don't want to buy a PS Vita to get GamePad/SmartGlass features, and I already have a 3DS for portable gaming.
