Do you think there will be a Kinect less Xbox One at one point?
If you buy the Xbox One, can you just disconnect the Kinect and play normally with the controller without any voice commands etc?
The battery situation - is that just like with the Wii Remote? People buy third party rechargers? Is that annoying?
Well my wish was granted. Now this became a prime target for buying next Black Friday in order to play Arkham: Knight.
I'm still sort of hoping the game will turn out bad, or I'd be rather playing Bayonetta 2 or X, because I really don't want another console. It's the only game that is making me want one of these other options. And I'd rather not buy a PS.
@Jazzer94
I never said it wasn't their most profitable division. I was implying that it doesn't matter how successful PS4 is, because they still aren't making money, which is true, AND what I was discussing. Apparently, we were both confused.
Even if PS4 is their most profitable division, that doesn't override any sort of financial failure they are having in other areas, which was my point.

I'm not confused its just your comment was kinda dumb, first Sony keep there home consoles in production for around 8-10 years, second it makes no sense to cease production in your words "sooner than expected" for the PS4 when its one of the few products making them money its going to be around for 6+ years whether you like it or not.
@Jazzer94
That's exactly what Sega thought. Do you think Dreamcast was only supposed to last like 2 years? If Sony can't make any money, they're probably going to have to call off production on everything they make, including PS, Walkman, etc. I'm not saying it will happen, but Sony is factually doing the worst out of the big 3, financially.
If Sony can't make products anymore, that isn't going to magically exclude the PS4.

And Microsoft could decide they no longer want to waste billions on the Xbox division that has only lost them money since its inception and Nintendo decides QOL is a better option then making video games and halts all console production anything can happen.

Anyway lets stop this conversation I don't want to derail the thread any longer honestly.
Microsoft is allowing resources that were initially required to be free for Kinect, to be used elsewhere. I was under the impression that it was already like that. If Kinect isn't being used in certain software, there's no need to restrict that resource.

I thought that they had already reduced the amount of resources the Kinect required so it wasn't very much now.
@Jazzer94
I don't even know. I thought Kinect was taking resources on a need be basis to begin with, but I guess now Kinect use is down to 2% by default. It was 10% prior, but that's just what I read off of IGN.

So I just finished child of light, costume quest and Banjo-Kazooie on my 360 and I'm filling up my library full of games since after what seems like yrs I got it back. Currently purchased episode 2 and 3 of telltale's walking dead (so unoriginal and uninspired, regret my purchase). So currently my decision is between Brothers and Jet Set Radio any opinions? Also any suggestions for good 360 games.
EDIT: Mostly looking for a good horror game (I already own RE: code veronica and Silent hill HD collection, downpour and shattered memories)
@mamp
I totally agree with your opinion of The Walking Dead. I played on my PS3 w/ PS+, and it was a QTE cheap crap game, IMO. I'd recommend RE: Revelations, Dead Space 1, or Alan Wake. I'm not sure what you have and don't have, so ya.
There's not really much else I could suggest, honestly. I'd say BK: N&B is OK, but I'm probably in the minority w/ that one,

Well walking dead is a glorified point and click adventure/TV show. It excels at its main selling point which is strong story telling that puts most of the industry on notice. Despite using a known IP and a very familiar trope. The plot and character interactions and superb and it has a very diverse casts whereas the main character isn't generic white awesome dude.
If you were looking for a good horror game than the walking dead was a terrible choice. Neither the game, the series, or the comic is about the horrors of the zombie apocalypse, rather they're looks at the human condition of surivibal with the zombies only really taking predamce in big set pieces.
If your looking for a horror game I'd say go with Alan wake. Its my favorite horror game of last generation and is really great for fans of twin peaks and Steven King.
The sequel is more action in the vein of a Twilight Zone episoide but is still pretty good.
Just remember its not a lake its an ocean.

There's always Dead Rising, but they don't play it off as being much of a horror game, even though the situations are jacked sometimes. Dead Rising 1 was amazing, IMO, and I played it years after it came out. I still really want to play the 3rd one.
EDIT: Dead Rising 2 was ok. There were some better aspects, but also some worse ones than the 1st.
Welp I'm buying an Xbox one for Christmas if Zelda isn't this year.
Any time you transition to a new platform, there is the opportunity to look at things with a new perspective. For us at 343 Industries, the launch of the Xbox One was an opportunity to think about what stories we wanted to tell, how to tell them, and how best to push the “Halo” franchise to showcase the platform. And, most importantly, combining our passion for “Halo” with the vocal and informative input from our fans.
“Halo” isn’t simply a perennial game franchise, it’s a part of the Xbox platform itself. In terms of innovation and ideation, it’s sometimes important to people who might not even play “Halo.” And of course it’s a passion and an essential experience for two generations of gamers. So we asked ourselves, how do we begin and where do we go with “Halo” on Xbox One?
In the past, “Halo” games have pushed the Xbox forward, showcasing the console and its ecosystem in entertaining and innovative ways. Making a “Halo” game that runs at 60 frames per second, on dedicated servers, with the scope, features and scale we’ve been dreaming of for more than a decade, is non-trivial. It’s a task that we, at 343 Industries, are taking very seriously to ensure we deliver the “Halo” game that fans deserve, and a game that is built from the ground up for Xbox One.
I’m happy to reveal that “Halo 5: Guardians,” the next installment in the legendary saga of the Master Chief, will launch on Xbox One in fall of 2015. In the tradition of every “Halo” game since its debut in 2001, it is a massive and exciting project.
“Halo 5: Guardians” is a bigger effort than “Halo 4.” That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.
It’s a game that will hopefully demonstrate the talent, learnings and abilities of the 343 Industries team. A game that will incorporate the things we learned from “Halo 4” about technology, aesthetics, performance and scale – and perhaps more importantly, understanding and embracing a community of gamers who love what lies at the heart of this game, and the limitless potential of the “Halo” universe.
And 2015 won’t simply be the year of “Halo 5: Guardians,” it will also be a year that offers us a unique opportunity. The opportunity to invite old friends and new audiences into that universe through the “Halo” television series, launched as a unique collaboration with Steven Spielberg and some of the finest creative minds in the business. A series that will stand alone, as well as complement and enrich the game experience. We’ll have more to share on the “Halo” television series as we near its projected fall 2015 release.
Your Journey Begins in 2014
Many fans noted that I was very deliberate with my phrasing on stage at E3 last year. I spoke about a “journey,” rather than a destination – and that journey definitely begins in 2014 with a giant leap, rather than one small step. We’ll give you much more information about our plans for this year at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9, and we’re confident that “Halo” fans will be pretty excited about the special plans we have in store.
So until E3, I’d like to express my gratitude to our massive and varied Halo community, whose energy, enthusiasm, criticism and kindness are the driving force behind what we do and what we hope to achieve in “Halo 5: Guardians.”
