I just recently purchased the xbox slim, and for various reasons, I only want to transfer two gamer profiles from the original 360 on to it. Does anyone know if this is possible.

It's possible, you have to do it with xbox.com. Look through Major's Minute archives, he talked about this already. Something about "How to recover a Gamertag"...
