Apprantly there are rumours floating about about a newer, more refined version of the XBox 360 that'll make more use of the Project Natal system. The Rumours also say that the system may even appear as soon as 2010!

IGNUK wrote:

Microsoft's Shane Kim spoke last week about how the launch of Natal will have the same impact as the launch of the 360 – and there are now suggestions that the motion camera's arrival could be joined by an all-new console.

1UP is rumouring that Natal will be accompanied by a revised Xbox console when it lands next year, suggesting that the new machine will present a similar generation leap as that witnessed from Nintendo's GameCube to the Wii, offering a repackaged machine with slightly enhanced technical specs and with the all-important camera included.

A more powerful Xbox 360 for 2010? Such rumours go against the grain of senior Xbox executive's recent comments about the 360's extended lifespan, and a more realistic proposition would be a console that maintains the core architecture of the existing hardware and repackages it for the mainstream market that Microsoft is keen to court.

All of which is, of course, mere speculation. Microsoft has told IGN that it doesn't comment on rumour and speculation, but that doesn't mean you can't; add your own guff and waffle to the rumour mill in the comments section below.

Could this be Microsofts answer to the Wii? maybe...?
