DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A DEBATE ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT THE VITA SUCKS OR NOT.
Before anything else, I loved (and still kind of do) my PSP. I think Sony's handheld are really good (still going 3DS though).
That said, I have tried out the Vita at GameStop and I really like it (Gravity Rush being my absolute favorite right now).
However, I noticed something odd about the Vita; it's ungodly light. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I am curious just how a console that big, for a lack of a better term, can be that lightweight. It felt like the inside was empty and had little to no weight to it when I picked it up at first. Is that just the demo unit, or all all Vitas like this? If it's the latter, does anybody know why the console is so light?

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I'm not exaggerating there either. The Vita's heavier that most other portable devices. It's just that the weight is balanced in such an ergonomic way that it's more comfortable in the long run.

Odds are that the demo system you used didn't have a battery. It is fairly common for demo units of any kind really to not have batteries, as they need to be running at all times, which means that they need to be plugged in at all times and batteries tend not to like charging all the time. I noticed this myself with the Wii U; I noticed the GamePad that came with my console was significantly weightier that the demo I had tried just days prior to purchasing. Granted, I personally liked the extra heft.

Is it really how the weight is distributed? I just got my Vita a few days ago, and as I was first messing with it I kept thinking, "Huh, this feels fairly light." But then when you just sit it in one hand it sort of feels heavier than holding it normally in two hands.
Sony untizes "Cloud Storage". Now they send all their fancy hardware stuff (including their must-have titles) to the cloud. :3
clearly Vita is filled with clouds, that's why it's so light :3 i seriously cannot stop giggling now, thanks for that :3
