Loving them myself man. Here is hoping that the PS3 versions of Super Robot Taisen make it to the States!

Unfortunately, the day Banpresto makes a PS3 game is the same day hell freezes over (or the PS5 gets released). They tend to be stubborn when it comes to moving to the new generation of consoles. They made a Wii game, which bombed, but that's about it, and it will probably be it for a while. Also, it should be noted that while Banpresto handles the main series Super Robot Taisen games, they rarely work on the spin-offs. The Endless Frontier games, for instance, were handled by Monolith Soft, who also made the similar ( and similarly excellent) Namco X Capcom. while I would love it if they would make a PS3 Endless Frontier game (and NXC2), their recent affiliation with Nintendo seems to make that all but impossible.

I loathe Capcom right now for Samurai Heroes, which actually offends me.

What's Samurai Heroes, and why does it offend you?

To put it simply - it takes horrific liberties with the warring states period of Japan to come up with cosplay-friendly character designs.

No repect for historical figures = terrible approach. It's the complaints people had with what Visceral Games did with Dante's Inferno all over again.

I don't think it's actually trying to be historically accurate, in any sense. And, besides that, it's made by a Japanese developer, so I can't see how it's offensive.

Sorry but if an Australian developer turned Ned Kelly into a giant mecha robot, I'd be pretty pissed. And I know for a fact if some American developer turned an American soldier in Afghanistan into a demon there would be all kinda of anger.

If they didn't want to be historically accurate, here's an idea - don't use historical names.

Koei has the balance between fantasy and historical respect pretty good with Samurai Warriors. It would upset me if this Capcom... travesty outsold Koei.

Because disrespecting the dead for profit is cool, y'all.

I would have to say, um.... oh, well, too hard. A good game is a good game, the dev label doesn't affect its greatness.

Thanks, Bobpie! Or can I call you Bob?
And actually, I asked for an 8am wake up call. I'm disappointed already!

Cavia has been retired. Dunno what happened to the workers - I imagine they would have been absorbed into the greater Square Enix entity, or moved somewhere else.

Intelligent Systems is just a studio wholy owned by Nintendo. Much like Monolith now - a dev I have got an eye on. Nintendo itself, the entity that is behind Mario et al, is not even close to my favourite developer.

Cavia(and Artoon and Feelplus) have all been folded into AQ Interactive.(which was originally Cavia anyway!)

Even if you count Monolith as different than being Nintendo then Intelligent Systems was a team formed within Nintendo, not a separate company. They started out as Nintendo's tech team and are still responsible for making Dev Kits and stuff. But I suppose you can be let off if you really like IS' series!

Oh god, same. Few Star Wars games have ever appealed to me. Telltale kind of makes up for their loss nowadays to some extent. Oh, for the glory days of PC adventures.

Have to disagree with you on this one. The greatness in the games comes from the great minds of the developers. Kevin Levine of Irrational Games was the sole mind of Bioshock. The sequel was handed off the 2K Marin to expand on the franchise wich again was another incredible game. BUT look at the upcoming Bioshock Infinite, Kevin Levine has spent the time crafting anothing wonderful world like Ratpure with Columbia.

Some developers are definatley worth following!

Holy crap, I noticed some people had mentioned SSi. I had almost totally forgotten about them.
