I can't even handle big game matches in Modern Warfare. I can't even last two seconds in a Battlefield game with 60 players. How the heck am I supposed to handle 256 people?!D=

The last thing I bought a PS3 for was first-person shooters. Though if this game was for the PC, I might have given it a small chance.

I've got a 3 Mbps down / 1 Mbps up connection, 8 Mbps is not yet available here and shouldn't be needed since every other device in my house works flawlessly... only one with problems is that underperforming console, specially with LAGand you're mixing info there, the router you use doesn't dictate the speed of your internet connection, that's something that's capped on the ISP side

The type of wireless also dictates a speed cap on your connection...

@Ravage using wired connection didn't change my experience the slightest bit... and for a 3 Mbps connection, not even 802.11b caps it...

I assumed you had a wired connection, I was just saying.

I wonder if I just have a better-than-average connection or something...I didn't notice any lag playing the beta, and I was using wireless. It played surprisingly well considering how full it was....although I never had a problem with 50-player Resistance 2 either...unfortunately, lack of lagginess just didn't save MAG from not being that great. Just not my style I guess...

or you could be geographically closer to / on the same network that the host/server... that would bring latency down and reduce lag...
latency is far more important as far as a fluid connection goes... so your experience with LAG depends completely on who's your Internet provider, who's the host Internet provider and who's Sony's Internet provider...
Also, for those that are interested in this game... doesn't it bug you the fact that the game WILL be useless in a couple of years? is not like it can be played offline, can it?

Well, I think it has promise. The problem is that I think lag is going to drag it down. Still, I'd like to see it work.

No it's ugly
The one thing it has going for it is that it has a lot of players, and I don't see that even being taken advantage of.
It's not like all 128 players are going to organize collectively.
Instead it seems like it'll be an uglier, less customizable, less organized version of Call of Duty with 15-20 people in their own little skirmishes all around the map.

Maybe, but you played the beta. The workload the commercial release brings on the servers will be the real test. Time will tell.

You guys are spoiled kids, who can't separate fun from good quality. The whole point of this game it to have large scale battles. You can't do that with 64 or less players. 256 people is a lot of players. Ive never even heard of a shooter that had 256 AI in one level. And why is lag such a bad thing. My friends and I used to pull out the worst quality shooter, star fox assault, and do so many crazy things on it just to get lag. Its crazy because everything is in slow motion and everybody ends up dying. Shooting games should be fun, not serious. People who play games really seriously don't have lives.
Actually, I won't be getting it, because of the fact that I am poor and can't afford a PS3.
