GameLoft has a really impressive catalog on the iPhone, and they have free demos of nearly all their games. Since pretty much all their games are $0.99 right now, it's a good time to download some demos and decide which games you like/don't like.
It's like, I just love a cowboy

And can you go a little faster?!
I just grabbed a HTC Hero wich is the iPhones biggest Competition. The Android Market has some of the same game apps, but these arent on there as of yet. I know its still in the early stages of the market. Any recommends for it would be great as well.

Hook Champ, Rolando, Rolando 2, and Firemint: Real Racing are all excellent and feel like they were made for the Iphone. A good free one is Pewpew, if you like Geometry Wars.

GTA: Chinatown Wars ($9.99) is a must-have, especially if you haven't yet played it on the DS or PSP. Don't worry, it's the full game, and the touch controls work great.
Madden '10 (also $9.99) has been a great time-killer for me, even though it's a bit easy and you only get to play one season (no franchise mode).
I just got an iPod Touch. All I've downloaded so far are Doodle Jump and Angry Birds. Doodle Jump is INCREDIBLY ADDICTIVE!!!! (surprised no one mentioned it yet) Angry Birds is really good too. Both cost $0.99, and both are more than worth the price, especially Doodle Jump.

Doodle Jump is one of the most simple games on the app store and it's addicting. I also suggest Pac-Man Remix. I had it before I got in on a PSP Compilation disk full of Namco games, but the iPhone version is good and it looks really nice so I say go for it. Also released recently was a portable version of Street Fighter 4. It looks cool but I haven't played it yet.
Trapster - it syncs up with google maps and lets you know where cops usually sit for speed traps, where red light cameras are, etc. as you travel. You can also report your own sightings and confirm others to help other users.
Speeding is wrong kids.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
