Right now I would have to say buying the Wii U at launch. I wish I would have waited to get it this holiday season rather than last.

Going mainly PS3 instead of Xbox 360.
I hardly play the thing. The only thing on it are exclusives, otherwise I can play Xbox exclusives which I enjoy more, and still get 3rd party games.

Digitally buying NSMB2...kinda wished I didn't, I'm stuck with it now.

Mine too, exactly! I would easily get money back for it selling online, but I'm stuck with it By far the worst Mario game I have ever played.

I mean, its not that bad...but after the Wii game, it kinda gets old...Dunno how the whole coin collecting theme thing got me into, lol.

Luck was on my side since it was my first NSMB game and they offered double the club Nintendo coins for the digital version.

If that's the case for you then get the U version...I'm thinking it'll have the same effect as the Wii version. For me it brought back Super Mario World memories for me.
(not sure if the U version will or not, but still go for it)

buying a 360 over a Ps3. The only advantage of this is that a couple of the most beloved games I have on it have really not good Ps3 versions I've heard (Orange Box and Skyrim), and admittedly I'd miss a few notable downloadable titles, especially since I don't use Steam. Otherwise, just missing finally being able to own PS1/2 classics alone made it such a bad choice for me. Also I wouldn't have had to deal with Nuts and Bolts after trying so hard to defend it before release. Ugh...

This. I got rid of mine after it bit the dust (after a whopping 5 months). Bought a PS3, and haven't looked back since. Never again is this user buying a Microsoft system.

Sad face, and a similar case to mine.

I bought a 360 at the peak of its appeal (I guess) to play overrated stuff like Final Fantasy 13. Ended up being kind of a paper weight - not because the console itself is rubbish (more a case of redundance, see next sentence) but the cost to maintain a LIVE account felt prohibitive. To bring the tale full circle I do have a Steam account and some primitive computers, to handle the indie and strategy games I enjoy. As well as Valve's games which seem to scale down well.

Trading in or giving away all of my NES, Genesis and N64 games, at various points. There are also a handful of PS2, GBA and GameCube games that I wish I had back.

I have sold about i think 30 to 40 nes games to a game store. Total payoff: $6

Why so much regret on getting Wii U? I've had mine since May 2013, and I still like it...

My regret? Getting a PS1 over Nintendo 64... Otherwise, I may have became a Nintendo fan much sooner...

Another one for me was being a raging "pro-Nintendo, anti-Sony" fanboy for a couple of years during the PSX/N64 generation.

Thankfully, though, I quickly got over myself after I actually played a few awesome PlayStation games.

As for me, I have no regrets. At least, clearly none worth remembering.

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

Selling my SNES. It could play NA, PAL and JP SNES games. I did sell it for twice the price I paid for it, but still.

I totally agree. I bought a PSP, bought like 3 games for it, and then it broke after a month. And to top it all off, it didn't have a warranty. Then, Sony wanted $70 for customer service! So there's my regret... The only good thing that came out of it was playing the awesome game Mega Man Powered Up!

Just buying too many games. I bought a gaming console (Wii) late in the game, got excited, bought so many games and had an infinite backlog that will never go away. Even now I still bought Wii U games still wrapped up because I am trying to juggle Wii and even Gamecube games at the same time. Also VC. No free moment. Should have bought one game at a time.
