The multiplayer, probably. It has a lot of customization, the gameplay is very fast, and it is easy to master.

I'm not sure, it is gonna be different for everyone. I prefer EA's Battlefield.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

People who have awesome gigantic brains think that its the best game in the world. Talk about it all day, say they blew someone up with a massive gun, go home and enjoy their bought-and-paid-for bandwidth playing online only to get owned by some lousy camper who probs is fit, lives in a paid-for mansion eating the finest meals prepared by his own personal chef.

However, I know them all personally and I visit them often, and so I know for a fact that they all haven't heard of the word RPG, or Platformer.
in case you didn't realize it, the generalizations were grossly unflattering and absolutely unnecessary. watch it. -- TBD

And can you go a little faster?!

I enjoy playing Modern Warfare 2, but the only reason I like it is because of the intense, competitive multiplayer.

Modern Warfare, both of them, actually have VERY good single player campaigns that rival or best, depends on preferance any FPS on the market.

@Aviator.... to say anyone who plays FPS doesnt know what a RPG shows just how little you know about gaming.

I'm assuming you're talking about MW, World at War, and MW2. Not too many people have really played CoD before MW came along. MW has a great single player as well as the multiplayer options. It's not the first to have a ton of unlocks, but, it seems to be the first that got around fast. It was in the right place at the right time.

That, my friend, is one of the greatest mysteries of the world. Well, nowadays anyway. Back in 2003, the first Call of Duty stood out from the rest of the crowd for being surprisingly lengthy and having pretty good multiplayer. Then companies saw how much dollars in millions it made and then tried to rip it off, concluding the second half of the last decade with FPS after FPS after FPS after FPS. Now the FPS has become what the platformer was in the eighties. Wanna make a game that people will get excited for? FPS. Wanna make a game that has a guaranteed chance of not being horrible? FPS. Wanna make a game that has already been made and all you have to do is copy and paste code? FPS. The only difference is that FPSs are less creative than platformers. Real long way we've come, huh?

Yeah, I never got to play the first, but I heard great things from it. I did hear that the second one was kind of the same thing, so it didn't really impress.

@kevohki as did I. Anyways, I guess it's because people feel like they are called to play it. Maybe they feel it's their duty! XD

Hmm... maybe it was the third one...

The third one is the least popular. I think it was the first one made by Treyarch.

To me the best part is the online. I know people are going to flame me for having the Wii Call of Duty games but I think they are great. I played 2 on the 360 at a friends and I thought it was pretty good as well. I only tried a demo of the first game on PC. I also tried a demo of Call of Duty 2 on the PC and it was pretty sweet. I like the way the campaigns are set up as well. Personally I also think the games are well presented.

Really it is the only series that has kept my interest in online play.

Guys, on my earlier post, I wasn't mentioning anyone on here, just a few people I know.

The original Call of Duty is not so special now, but what is special is the incredible online multiplayer that you get with Modern Warfare games. It is so addictive and like any great game it's easy to get quite good at but really hard to master. Plus it's the online shooter of choice for most people, so you can always get a good game and everyone takes it seriously. Basically it's a lot of fun.

If you're talking Modern Warfare that's because it's one of the best series in any genre.

The developers have nailed the campaign both times and the online multiplayer is some of the best available.

There's a reason why millions and millions play the game, decent amount of which play regularly online.

Only time will tell if there will still be over 1000 servers on MW2 5 years after release, then we will know if it is truly the best. Oh, wait, MW2 doesn't have servers. Doh! That's why MW is better (on PC, but PC has the longest lasting online games). People still play the heck out of Counter-Strike 1.6, and there are a ton of servers on Counter-Strike: Source. Not to mention Team Fortress 2, which is still getting content updates.

MW2 on PC sucks

The blood!

No really, I'm not entirely sure. There's always a few great multiplayer maps, and the multiplayer in general is always a blast, but that can be said of most FPS games. I think COD is fun, I really do. Always have a blast playing it when I go to a friend's house who has it. But is it as good as people make it out to be? Not at all.
