Topic: What will be an unexpected hit?

PERSONA 5. Despite the popularity, the PERSONA games never really sold outrageously well. But I'm really confident that the latest entry will rise far above its predecessors!
Also, SMTxFE. Japan alone will most likely sell insane numbers simply because it's a full-fledged RPG about idols. They love that stuff. The west will probably be... less than excited, overall.

Word to the wise: Wildstar is going to make a HUGE comeback in the fall. Just you wait and see.

I agree that Persona 5 will be a hit, but I don't think it will be unexpected. P4G almost cracked a million sales on the Vita and generated a ton of goodwill for the series. I think most people are expecting P5 to be the best selling game in the series to date.

I actually think Yo-Kai Watch could be a big hit.

Nintendo's first mobile game will be so huge that gamers new and old will flock back to Nintendo in their masses.Wii U sales will be so huge that Nintendo won't be able to pump them out fast enough and the only way to get one this Xmas will be from scalpers demanding $500+ a pop for just the Basic model.Nintendo will then delay the planned 2016 release of NX due to the rebirth of Wii U and release Zelda in the Summer and re-port Metroid NX (originally planned for for Wii U) to be the big holiday 2016 blockbuster.By then Nintendo will have released at least 5 monster selling mobile games that will make them so rich they decide to use the NX delay and new found wealth to beef the power up to epic proportions that will have Sony and Microsoft quaking in their boots.NX will release as an absolute powerhouse in 2017 with every 3rd party on board (because Nintendo's cool again) and the Wii U's (now 50 million) user base will continue to be supported until 2019 with NX ports and the definitive versions of multiplatform releases.

I agree that Nintendo should do well on the Mobile Market as long as they handle it correctly, but since DeNA is helping them, they should do fine. Especially since most mobile games are kind of dull and bad (as in repetitive).

Persona 5 says hi. Final Fantasy XV also says hi. The hype for those games is incredibly high. Pretty sure those will sell great in the West.

I honestly feel like SMTXFE will do pretty well in the west. Also triforce heroes might have a bit of potential probably selling captain toad sales numbers.

I feel like SMTxFE is so Japanese that it'll carve a niche, but I don't expect it to sell more than 100k, really...

I think that Star Fox will be bigger than expected even with the controls and graphics naysayers.

So far... There's no online multiplayer and the story is yet another retread. My expectations for Star Fox: Zero is incredibly low but we all know the only big thing this game will end up bragging about is gameplay. ... I don't mean to sound bitter. I'm just kinda letdown by Star Fox: Zero so far. I was expecting brand new story, awesome online multiplayer, graphics that were impressive like Mario Kart 8, etc.

Ehhh... I've been experiencing Persona 3 FES and I totally understand why the Persona love is huge. If Persona 3 and Persona 4 (incredibly "Japanese") can create a loyal Western fanbase that's so hungry for Persona 5... Then maybe SMTxFE has a shot, too. I keep saying that a big thing can happen if this game does well. I want more JRPGS on Nintendo platforms so bad. I want SMTxFE to become a series.

I think the big issue is that it pretty much lives and dies by fans of either series. Otherwise, it might as well be a new IP and it took a loooong time for Persona to get as popular as it was over here.

I think it'll do alright but I don't think it'll be considered a major success of the post-Xenoblade/Ni No Kuni JRPG boom either.
