Hey, might as well ask a stupid question.
So say i was to, you know, start up a game Development studio. I doubt there's any Game developers who read this site's fourms, but not like i'm serious about this anyway. But even then, suppose i take the idea seriously someday.
What should I Do? What Can be done to make sure it does not become yet another horror story?
If you've got any tips, tricks, "Heads-Ups", or anything like that, feel free to let me know.

@Willax Dual major in university and get degrees in both business and game development. Find partners and know you cannot do everything yourself in a reasonable scenario (yes people have done that but it's far from a safe or ideal plan). Set realistic goals - don't hope to have huge success right out of the gate. Learn from your mistakes.

And I would suggest seeking a balance between doing something original and something people would be interested in.

And do not make yet another "retro-inspired rogue-like".

@Willax
1. Don't sign up to EA. EA will crush your every dreams.
2. Consider to make decent 3D games rather than Retro 2D style games.
3. Think out of the box. Don't be afraid to deliver different genre games that not everyone know. It will be another hidden gems for Anti-Mainstream gamers. For example, instead of considering Shooting games or 2D platformer all the time, why don't take approach for other genre, mix and match it will be very interesting games.
Take a look Evoland Legendary Edition as example of mixed 2D + 3D Action RPG with some cameos from other games such as Street Fighter, Zelda, final Fantasy ATB style, Bomberman, Shoot em up games, etc.
