Game Informer did a great story about how the PSP Go has no real market. Anyone pleased with it? Unpleased? Or do you just not like Sony all together?

It's trying to be a lot of things at the unreasonable expense of those who already supported the product line. I feel it's tons worse to discontinue a form of current-compatibility than any form of backwards compatibility (DSi and Gameboy Micro, vs. PSP Go) It wants to replace your iPod due to the lack of format restrictions/single-comp exclusivity, but doesn't have the market share/ad presence/name to go off of. It wants to invade on the iPod's online videogame share, probably due to frustration at the feces that's selling on the App store. It wanted to erase the bad memory that is the slow-loading, loud, battery-draining UMD in favor of now-dirt-cheap flash memory. I dunno, as the sum of its parts it seems ok, and if anything it's the fact that it's reinventing itself to try to appeal to every market. All of those markets seem to have already chosen a device that appeals to them, and trying to convert them with the 4th generation of something they've already passed up 3 times seems like a strange way to do it. Add one to Sony's missteps-counter....it's a shame too since there is some great content on there. The PSP minis program, if supported, could be amazing (App store with a much more reasonable bar of entry than most non-App stores--but it actually has one which keeps out the riff-raff), but sadly looks like it's another case of a good idea implemented badly. Hopefully the new PS3-playability will catch on.

Exactly. Everyone here thinks it has no real use, at least if you already own a PSP. I have no clue what Sony was thinking. Maybe they thought their PS3 sales boost would compromise the sales of the Go.

The PSPgo is a great idea, but badly executed. Not being able to put the retail games you already own on the system is no fun. But I love the way the system feels in my hands and the fact that you don't have to carry around UMD discs. But it might have been just a tad before its time, sadly.
I bought one and it has a lot going for it ( Sharper, Clearer Screen, Very Compact, 16 GB built in memory), but overall I feel very ripped off by Sony. There's A LOT of games that aren't available to download. Only a very small percentage of the PSP library is on the PSN, and the prices of everything are WAY too high. The updates are erratic at best and almost never feature more than a game or two. The other thing is the resale value of it has dropped quite a bit so I'd be lucky to get even half of what I paid for the system. Of course once you buy any games you can't return or sell them.
If I could go back in time I totally would've gotten the PSP 3000, but now I feel so burned by Sony that I don't really trust them. Its like they don't want to make any money with it 'cause they offer so little for it, and they obviously don't care about what Consumers want. Sorry to rant, just had to get that off my chest Lol.

It's cool. That's what a forum is for.

If you don't already have UMDs, and you have a lot of money, seems like it'd be ideal. But everyone who already owns a PSP complains even though it's clearly not marketed toward them. My only complaint is the unreasonable price.
It's a luxurious version of the psp, it's purely about aesthetics. And that's fine there doesn't have to be another use for it than just beeing a beautiful psp!
