Wages to this very day? Hardly. Nintendo won the battle and the war with the evil and inferior Segans. Isn't that right, Prosody?

There are still people who think the Genesis does what Nintendon't.

I'll give you an example, Waltz. I love Brawl, it's a great game, but as I got better at it, I started playing Melee again, and was astounded by how different it was. Now I've seen and read people on the internet doing and talking about a bunch of crazy stuff they could do on Melee that I figured I would never be able to do, so I ignored them. But as I played more Brawl, I grew tired of not having all the advanced maneuvers you could pull off in Melee. After playing Melee again, I preferred it because of it's complexity. That would never have happened if those internet people never showed me it.

And yes, the reverse is very possible. You can start to love a game based on the smaller details that person gave you. And, not everyone on the internet is a troll. I don't take judgements from trolls. I take judgments from people who know what they're talking about and don't try to push you to take they're side just to be right.

Hmmmm kinda like this....

starting at comment #50, where I put some info on the Playstation Move and you can see the reaction!

I literally just typed this comment..........
"Loyalty to a company in the current gaming world just leaves you missing out on great games!"
By that I dont mean abandon a company forever but with the 3 companies in control now, you basically have to have more than one console to keep up. I tried the Wii as a only console but watching my friends play Modern Warfare, Mass Effect, Orange Box, etc had me running to HD system really quick. Wii has great games, just not enough to keep a gamer that games as a primary hobby happy.

The Fanboy trend really needs to go though, its obsurd and just flat out annoying, as you can see in the thread in any article about one company if anyone mentions anything about another company or in this instance the other companies periphial talked about in the article, it starts, Everytime.

So how is any of this a problem?

Slapshot

@SBTail.... you know Bionic Commando for 360/PS3 has got to be one of the most hated on games this past year. I mean HATED! Didnt stop me for having a blast playing it, yeah its got its problems, loads of them in fact. The core gameplay was still fun as heck and a blast to play. So I got my money out of it and that is what matters.

I guess I'm the exception. The only current-gen console I own is Wii. Gaming is my main hobby, if it wasn't, would I be on this website? Sure, i've had temptations to go get an HD system, but many factors played into me being a Nintendo-centric gamer: budget, preference, and a little bit of nostalgia. I don't like the fancy-schmancy special effects, and I don't have the cash to just roll out every time I want something. As for the nostalgia, I play my retro systems more than I play my Wii, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

@Waltz: Nothings a problem, I'm just giving an example.

It's like rooting for a sports team, IMO, but it happens to be with billion dollar corporations and pieces of metal.

To be fair, it's easier to resolve these days - if the console doesn't house Chocobo (as in, THE Chocobo), then it's immediately disqualified.

So that takes out the Xbox 360. It's a tough fight between the PS3, Wii and DS.

Well, FFXIII did hit the Xbox 360.

I think this topic just shows how that the only negative thing wrong with the gaming industry are fanboys.

Sounded like you were complaining at the start of the thread - the title suggests it as well, is all. I guess I misread this thread.

The chocobos in FFXIII are not Chocobo. The Xbox is the only console that doesn't have Chocobo.

Is that where we started? I lost my concentration for a second there. But yep, that's right.

Sorry, I guess I wasn't very clear. I suppose I just wanted opinions about the creation of the term "fanboy."

Kinda hard to do when they run into every thread and bash the game you like... :/

But being serious here for a moment - who cares? If someone "attacks" a game you like, is that going to stop you liking the game?

No... certainly not. It just... gets kinda annoying after awhile.

Oh yeah, for sure. But eh. That's the Internet for you.

People didn't react because you said you liked the PS3. People reacted because your comment ignored some very important facts, and as you've probably noticed, people here are vultures, and ignorant comments are dead zebras. [how's THAT for an analogy?]
I have to say, though, I agree with the part about Fanboyism ending.

I'm kinda split on the subject, myself. Depends on how funny the flame wars end up being. Also, the way I see it, a little trash talk tends to give good games more publicity and fuel healthy competition between corporations, but if a legitimate study revealed otherwise, I'd be happy to be rid of all those trolls.

@100...... see you missed the point too. I didnt put that there to ignore anything. Reggie handled the comments very well, and I think very highly of the man and Nintendo. It was obvious that there is very little knowlege here on the Move and I drop info on the product in there as info on it. Not to promote it. Im no fanboy!

The Wii is a complete failure... Nintendo SHOULD just stop selling it all together and quickly make a successor before they lose about 70% of their fans. The DS is pretty great though.

Magi

This is teh interweb. That's why.

Oh, and people rarely take criticism very well...

I'd wager that face-to-face, you'd have some intelligent discourse over the highs and lows of various games/consoles, but once the anonymity of the internet is thrown in, all bets of intelligence are off (generally).

^^^^^^^ Truth and Wisdom in that statement Magi. So many people hide behind there Avatars on the Internet. Im the same here as in real life, wich is why I seem to end up pissing people off at times, like with the adding info on the Move as in earlier post. To me, it was just adding info, to lots of other people it was a insult to Nintendo or whatever, I just dont buy into the Company Loyalty. Im just a gamer and my extra disposible income goes to the best games out that I want, whatever system it may be on.
