Dunno about Konami, but Capcom just makes...weird choices sometimes. They said production costs would be very high to make a new Monster Hunter game for the Wii U...so what do they do with all that money they made off of Monster Hunter 4?...Put it towards mobile. >_>
It's not weird when you consider the size of the Mobile game market in Japan alone.
While I would love to see a new Monster Hunter game on the Wii U, the reality is that it's a game that would be made for a system that is stll struggling that has seen poor sales when it comes to third-party companies.
Compare that to the Mobile Game market which is growing, and in Japan, has gotten bigger then even the handheld market over there.
Putting aside personal feelings, if you were the head of a company, which would you choose? A platform that has struggled since it launched and has a poor third-party software attach ratio, or a market in mobile gaming that keeps growing day by day?
