Now I don't know what's going on with these two devs so I want to know what horrible things these two have done that has caused some hate towards them. Is it there quality of games? new policies?

The only few games that I've played for each dev would be Contra, Castlevania, Mega man, Street Fighter, Final Fight and Strider so I'm not into stuff like Monster Hunter or Metal gear solid and stuff like that.

Who cares?

Play games for the enjoyment you get out of them. Not for the popularity contest of the company that makes them.

Well people don't like capcom very much mostly because the on disc DLC for Street fighter X Tekken, cancelled megaman games, unessesary DMC reboot, the fact they ruined the resident evil series, and just some overall bad business decisions. As for why people hate Konami they basically stopped making games outside of the metal gear series, and the God of warvania games kinda upset some fans.

On Disc DLC: Yeah, not a fan.

Cancelled Megaman games: I don't understand why people hold grudges for cancelled games. A game gets cancelled. Move on and enjoy something else.

Unnecessary DMC: Says you. Capcom obviously though it was time for a new instalment, which is why they made it (and it was pretty good).

Resident Evil: 5 is around 85 on Metacritic, 6 is around 70 and Revelations is around 80. That's hardly a ruined franchise.

I regret typing all of that because you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Capcom gets flak for the DLC on disc thing, but there's more to it. A lot of long-time fans see the company as moving away from its roots and trying too hard to "westernize" itself when it really wasn't necessary.

And Konami doesn't really do anything besides Metal Gear and God of War rip-offs these days. Silent Hills is coming out, I guess, but Silent Hill hasn't been good since PS2.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

konami still does pro evolution soccer which is important to a lot of football fans (like me). if they stop doing those games i need to get into fifa which i hate

Konami killed Hudson Soft and their IPs, the same thing Microsoft did to Rare. I don't dislike Capcom for the things they do, I'm only confused by the things they don't do.

Konami has really poor management and communication issues with other developers and they don't publish anything other than Metal Gear nowadays.

As for Capcom... I don't get the hatred for DmC, it wasn't the best game ever, but it's still good, although little shallow.

But going back to the company itself, they do some pretty stupid decisions and complain for the sake of complaining, like Resident Evil 6 not meeting expectations even though it's their best selling game ever and for the spanking and poor reviews it got it is quite accomplishment. They are searching for a problem in the wrong place and instead of improving and making IPs better, they look for god knows what

It's possible someone accidentally typed Konami and Capcom instead of EA and Ubisoft. You should check.

I think both Lords of Shadow games I have played are utter garbage. (Steam Ultimate Edition and 3DS Mirror of Fate)

I liked Darksiders II so I am not totally against that style of gameplay.

The Castlevania somewhat recent Arcade game looks good but I have never come across it.

Rocket Knight was quite a disappointment from Konami

Never really played Metal Gear Solid.

I like Ultra Streetfighter IV (Not as much as KoF XIII but I don't have people to play KoF with).

I was disappointed by how badly DuckTales Remastered and Chronicles of Mystara were done.

The Edelweiss indie games published by Capcom on Steam are some of my favourite ones that exist.

I can understand Konami because no one cares about Konami anymore unless Snake's involved (though we'll see what Silent Hills is like) it seems, but ...I find it hard to believe you could've avoided seeing the complaints about Capcom. It...wasn't difficult to find. Especially on a Nintendo forum.

Konami is hated for being genuine ***holes while Capcom is hated more for needlessly angering fans of literally every series they've ever made while potentially declining to the point of bankruptcy. Go to Jim Sterling if you want to know about Konami in more detail, most of what I know is the insanity of how they didn't show up for their own early morning conference that happened before the Nintendo Digital Event this year and didn't tell anyone.

But people's hatred at Capcom is more based on what they're doing with their games. Let's go through the list
-Megaman had 2 (later revealed to be 3) games cancelled in a short span of time and intentionally pulled a demo entirely made to give people to vote with their wallets to finish development of Megaman Legends 3 (made much more infuriating by it being the last game of a trilogy, and the last game ended on a cliffhanger) and a lot of stupidity afterwards made the situation even worse.
-Street Fighter has mostly the usual complaints about how they re-release the same game with some updates over and over, but I have to assume people aren't as angry compared to other things...until they made a comment about how it was impossible to make Street Fighter V.
-Devil May Cry, "hey let's take a ridiculous over-the-top stupid fun series and try to make it serious and the character more emo looking. That always works!" -no one smart ever
-Ace Attorney had the Edgeworth sequel never released here and they blatantly lied about the sales of the first game to prove their point. I'm actually a bit nicer than most towards this simply because AAI2 as a DS game in 2012 (if not later) is a terrible idea from a business standpoint. Also I don't know who to blame for the recent games being download only but less exposure for Ace Attorney is bad for society.
-Resident Evil turned into a terrible action game by the time the series got to 6. Which I am currently playing actually and is just the most soul crushing experience to me and anyone who respects creativity over focus groups. Revelations 2 is a cool thing but then they made the excuse that they need to waste more money to make it HD so that 3DS doesn't get it because the 3DS version did the best.
-Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was a horribly lacking game for features that people paid 60 bucks for only for it to be made pointless only a few months later by Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3..
-Dead Rising 3 while actually apparently a really good game still had the most pathetic marketing around originally, with its brown COD users focused nonsense and I hope everyone who thought Dead Rising should try to get all the COD players gets punched in the throat.
-I don't know the Darkstalkers deal off the top of my head, but apparently they screwed that up too.
-The next Breath of Fire game is a mobile game, which is scary as **** for fans because trusting companies to make a good mobile game is like trusting Lex Luthor with kryptonite.
-Lost Planet 3 was apparently a terrible game while the apparently good 3DS/PS3 anime Lost Planet game is only released in Japan. Despite Lost Planet being made specifically for the Western audience. Because reasons.

And this is just the ones I remember.

Do both of them not have a shedload of extremely valuable real estate as well ?

I don't necessarily hate Capcom. I enjoy a lot of their games still, and their merchandise for Monster Hunter and Mega Man has been really addictive for me as of lately. But some decisions like the Gamecube Resident Evil remake not coming to Wii U have upset me. As well as their recent decision to completely abandon any IP that can't reach a certain sales number.

Konami I have no respect for left. Metal Gear is awesome and all, but that's literally all that's left. They destroyed Castlevania, Bomberman is likely never returning, and Hudson Soft is gone.

What about Namco ? (I think they are kind of in a similar boat for me - Not really focusing on the things I personally want). But they are making a new Time Crisis Arcade game so.

And yet the fifth game is in early development.

Also that AAI2 thing... Wow they were total a-holes to people with that. "We are not holding this game hostage, buy a lot of Dual Destiny game and we will think about releasing it". My God it was atrociously bad PR on par (or even beyond) x1/ps3

I pretty much feel the same way. I like a lot of Capcom games, but they don't care anymore about most of their series (or fanbases that aren't huge and mindlessly rabid). Which is sad, but somewhat understandable because everyone needs money, especially with how bloated the video game industry is getting.

Konami? Ehhhhhhhhh....no. MGS is a pretty good series, but that's pretty much all they're banking on now and it's getting old pretty quick, especially with many games handling story-telling and sneaking elements much better to challenge the once unchallenged genre. Why didn't I mention any other Konami series? Because they frickin' tanked the rest...T_T

obviously you know nothing on the subject as you dodged the OPs original question and wrote off very valid opinions that are shared by a large portion of the people who play these games, refer to the other posts in this thread and you will see my complaints are quite valid.

In addition to all this, Capcom effectively treated Mega Man like dirt by putting out this numbingly horrible iOS game for his 25th Anniversary.

A Mega Man anniversary game... with no Mega Man.

That game is horrible, how could they do that to Megaman?

More on topic... I was checking up on some of my games and I found that most of them are either from Nintendo or Capcom, wich made me remember how awesome the latter was in previous generations. And well, I think the hate comes from them not doing justice to some of their beloved franchises. For example, I love (and I mean LOVE) RE 4, but the new games of the series doesn't come near to the quality of it. Also, do you guys remember the projects Capcom fund on the GC era? Those were good times.

And Konami... well, I haven't played any game from them since WE 6.
