Damm....this list was so hard. I wanted to put both Super Mario World and 64 as well as the land series. But then again, I said I love nearly every game I've played so this list barely justifies my affection.

EDIT: Even though they aren't in my list, Thousand Year Door is my all time favorite along with Super Star Saga.

I am well aware that this is a Nintendo website, hence the list being dominated by Nintendo games (obviously!), and whilst it is a good list on its own, it doesn't offer very much variety seeing as there are five Mario games, two Zelda games, one Metroid, one Pokémon (and not even the best one!) and Xenoblade.

Quite surprised to see the first Super Mario Galaxy higher than its sequel though; I personally believe that the second one is arguably better in every conceivable way!

I'm going to make my own list when I'm feeling a little more coherent than I am now, but I have to say that I'm surprised that the consensus seems to be the Super Mario Galaxy is a better game than its sequel. For my money, Galaxy 2 builds on the first in every conceivable way, offering a much more varied, streamlined and, most importantly, fun experience.

Dang, this is hard. It's annoying with the 5 great Zelda games clogging up my list. I want to fill it with interesting titles, all great in their own, unique way, but I can't because they're too good.

This is insanely hard. This was also done strictly with the one per franchise rule in mind (Although I cheated with Counter Strike). But these game are games that were amazing and stuck with me, the sort that, no matter which year we're in, I'll look back and "These were damn good games".
