I was just thinking of the ridiculous DLC trend in video games lately. Instead of actual extras, it seems like we're being charged extra for stuff that should already be in the games. I just hope they don't decide to charge extra for even-more-basic stuff like options menus. The thought of having to pay to "download" the ability to set my personal preferences in a game makes me sick.
Even though you elaborated, I still have no idea what you're on about.
But at least you tried.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

Yeah! How dare they charge us more for optional content! We deserve free menus! That'll show them!

I don't know if it counts, but the non-pre-order copies of Soul Sacrifice supposedly make you pay for the ability to hear the in-game narration in Japanese.
It's free for people who pre-order.

It's free for people who pre=order.
This is so ridiculous I almost have to applaud it.

As in, the English localisation?
That is perfectly reasonable.
People who don't care about Japanese voice tracks (which, given the popularity of dubs, is a lot of them) won't mind not getting the voice track.
People that do care about Japanese voice tracks can foot the bill for the additional licensing costs involved in having dual voice tracks.
