A mad max game was a rather intresting and unexpected announcement. Didn't realize there was a market to make games of 80s action movies. I'm wondering if a new new IP would have been best here.

People don't know what Mad Max is?

I can't believe it took this long to make a game out of those movies. They're fantastic.

Well, heck... a few years back there was a James Bond game, 'From Russia With Love', based on the 60's movie, with Sean Connery voicing Bond to boot. Though, I see Mad Max having more success.

James Bond didn't have a 30 year gap between anything new coming to the series though.

I don't know, I think it's a pretty cool IP to go after. Don't underestimate the amount of 30+ year old fans this franchise has. That's a demographic you need to buy your consoles. It's really the first game that's making me think I should get a PS4 sooner rather than later. (I know it's on XBox as well, but bleh).

That's true. But there was a 'Jaws' game, and a 'Warriors' game... both 70's movies. Probably some others. Success might be another story.

I'm not sure if you're complaining or assuming.

Either way, does it matter? It has potential at being a good game and that's enough to spark interest amongst an audience.

Heh, I immediately thought of you when I saw this announced.

I just remembered, I picked up The Godfather' for PS2 off Amazon. Not an action movie, but had pretty good success. Then I saw there was 'The Great Escape' game on PS2, as well. Clearly, people do think older movies have a chance in modern video games. I expect Mad Max to do pretty well, especially considering it will be a relatively early title.

I'm assuming. Very good point though, it's just quite the intresting decision. (I don't mean that positively or negatively)
