I've synched, done Remote Play, won trophies, set up my Japanese PSN account, surfed the web, and played games from both the PSN and retail carts, and I haven't had one problem yet. I had WAYYYYYY more trouble with my 3DS than this Vita. Not even close. Hell I couldn't play hardly a game without the system giving me the black screen every time I turned around, both my retail unit and the review unit Nintendo sent me.

Now watch me jinx myself.

True, since the problem is only happening to some of the Vita's, not all of them. The 3DS Black Screen thing was happening to ALL of the systems.

Let's just hope they get the Vita lined out the way Nintendo got the 3DS running smoothly. I don't like problems, happening to me or others.

@SquiggleTail: No it wasn't... i never had a problem with the BSoD on my original launch 3DS, and I've never had a problem with it on my red one either. :/

One more pic for today and then off to bed. Here's some stuff, at least as much as I could squeeze on the table.

Hey Corbs, I have a question - is the battery accessible to the user? The dev hardware doesn't have one or even a panel that looks like it may be where a battery cover would be on a retail unit.

Uh, what? No one told my 3DS, which was purchased at launch, filled with DL content, used extensively, never turned off and used with wireless enabled at all times... but never had a single black screen. Nor did the one of my friends who also purchased one.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

I'm with WariosWoods on this one.

Anyway. Corbs, you didn't buy Uncharted Golden Abyss? That's a shocker. What's your favourite game so far? I'm wondering what to pick up on Feb 22nd, but I can only afford 2 games.

I remember reading somewhere on Amazon (or maybe Sony)'s website that the battery cannot be replaced

I really wished the System OS had used Black instead of the blue Background. Oled tech is based around getting the truest black and saves power when on a black display.

No, there is no battery compartment on the retail unit. So I'm assuming the user cannot change it, at least not without taking some changes pulling the back off.

I didn't get Uncharted yet because I felt like there would be too much Japanese text to get through the game. I didn't know that there was an English option on the Asian release or I would have gotten it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLED

go down to advantges

An OLED display works without a backlight. Thus, it can display deep black levels and can be thinner and lighter than liquid crystal displays (LCDs). In low ambient light conditions such as dark rooms an OLED screen can achieve a higher contrast ratio than an LCD, whether the LCD uses either cold cathode fluorescent lamps or the more recently developed LED backlight. Due to their low thermal conductivity, they typically emit less light per area than inorganic LEDs.

It has amazing Black levels.

Be wary of the OLED screen, though. Some of our dev units have problems with burned in images. Not sure if the exact same screen is in the dev unit as the retail and to be fair, they had been left on the same screen of a game for extended periods of time, which is less likely with a retail one.
