@kkslider5552000: I agree! I'm surprised at how Toby was able to do such things in Game Maker Studio an engine that is considered to not be all that suitable for making RPG's like this.
Actually, I'm curious to know as why he couldn't use RPG maker instead of this? Infact, the music looping in Game Maker Studio is a nightmare to deal with!
So the game managed to be on TIME's top ten games list and its placed 9 and it definitely deserves it.
but tbh, I'm not sure if I can call this game my all time favorite.....idk why because I certainly got my money's worth.
@TeeJay: That thing is actually possible to do. The thing is, Nintendo has to be fine with that because they can potentially be sued if such things are to happen without their knowledge.
Just got the neutral ending for Undertale. I haven't been that freaked out by a game since MGS2's ending. I really thought something was bugged. Also, Flowey is total nightmare fuel.
@-Red- I found him a bit creepy for a couple of reasons:
1. The stark contrast between him and the rest of the game's artstyle.
2. The fact that he completely breaks the game (he causes the game to crash and then screws around with your save file. That...that definitely caught me off guard.)
3. That damn laugh.
4. The constant feeling of "Oh God! Oh God! Jesus save me! I'm gonna die! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DODGE THIS MUCH CRAP!?"

I can see why they made him appear and behave the way he did, it makes sense, and the battle was tense but I was never creeped out by him tbh.
Also, what is everyone's honest opinion on Undertale's Gameplay mechanics?
@-Red- Well, it's an interesting idea (RPG mixed with Bullet-Hell), and I never had any issues with it, but it's not the reason I kept playing (If it weren't for the characters and writing, I doubt that Undertale would've become as popular as it is.)
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

@-Red- I really like the gameplay mechanics myself. That one really hard battle (you know the one) was really fun and unique thanks to the mechanics and I'm a big fan of the different soul modes.

Just got the True Pacifist ending. I loved it for the fact that it reminded me of some of the joy I felt when I played the Lunar games on the PS1. Love and friendship triumph over hatred. Lovable characters. Witty dialogue. Amazing music.
Now I just need to go to the dark side for a final playthrough, and I'll be completely done with this game.
EDIT: I'm fairly deep into my genocide playthrough now. I LOVE most of the subtle changes that were made to make this otherwise charming game into something incredibly creepy. Undyne has been kicking my butt all night, though.
Well, took me a few days, but I finally defeated Sans and cleared the Genocide ending. Now the game is just a black screen and wind sounds.
Same here.
But there is a way to replay the game in which you have to wait for several minutes until a dialog appears. From there, just keep saying yes and the game will erase your entire save to start all over again.
You know, I don't think I like how the game has done its homosexual content. Sure, its very mild and only occurs on the true pacific ending but still....it just happened and nothing much changes in that. No suspense, no shocks, nothing. It just expects you to take it as granted.
Aside that lousy issue that I only had in the entire game, the game is great and I'm angry that this game didn't win any awards last year! >:<
@Socar: Yeah, I eventually figured it out. It doesn't entirely reset the game, though. It remembers if you gave away your soul, and changes the pacifist ending in a creepy way if you reobtain it following a genocide run.
I'm assuming you're talking about Undyne and Alphys with regard to your complaint about "homosexual content?" Not sure what you expected to happen. Those two characters just happen to share a connection. There's no reason for the game to make a big deal about their relationship.
Undertale has actually gotten a ton of attention for such a small game. It's selling extremely well on Steam and has made it into many, many GOTY lists

Why do expect the game to make a big deal about a homosexual relationship?
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
