I honestly can't find any data with a definitive top 10 listing the best. Just curious to find out, some are saying the gamecube sold better than the wii on it's launch. so um.. help
Well the Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, Wii, and PlayStation 4 were the fastest selling consoles in their respective times, but I can't find a top 10 list.
yea, thanks anyway. Was going to make a top 10 list actually myself but there's some mixed sources, some companies didn't reveal how many units they sold in a week for example. It'll take me a lil while to find a way of raking them i guess
I believe the PS4 is the fastest selling console to date. At least in the UK I think it was.
It was in launch window, but it has since fallen behind the PS2 and Wii.
It's interesting though. I mean, PS2, Wii, and PS4 are by far the most successful console launches. It gets a lot harder to tell after that. No other consoles have sold anywhere close to what those 3 did in their first year, as far as I know.

It depends what period you count as the launch period. The Wii U had a staggeringly good opening. They sold 3.5 million in the first month, and it took them nearly 2 years to sell the next 3.5 million.
The Playstation on the other hand, despite ending up smashing all sales records for consoles, was a very slow burn.
