Topic: TitanFall is officially trash

I don't make topics that much, because one usually already exists. Anyways...
I been playing TitanFall, on and off, and I've come to the conclusion that it's officially trash.

Reasons why TitanFall is trash:
1. Poor respawn mechanics

  • If you die, it's very likely you'll end up right next to your opponent, so get ready to respawn again

2. Poor gameplay mechanics

  • hit boxes are flawed. Sometimes you'll punch with your titan, but it won't count
  • there's a tactic where you can jump on an enemy titan. From my experience, this animation makes you invulnerable during a crucial part of gameplay
  • you can run and jump on walls, but sometimes there isn't a specific enough command to do what you want to, so the pilot maneuver controls are flawed. According to the mechanics, you SHOULD be able to do said parkour.

3. The game is buggy

  • sometimes the game crashes, but this is usually if you run the game after being temporarily suspended. Audio is distorted, or the game will crash entirely
  • on the rare occasion, no gameplay can be registered. one time, my titan punch didn't register(part of failed mechanics, and possibly lag), and my titan was under attack. You're supposed to get out of your titan and fight person to person, but my shots weren't working, then the game crashed and told me that game logic was unreadable. This has happened to me a few times, but crashed completely only once.

4. Lag

  • I'm thinking the poor game mechanics don't really help much with this issue, then stack lag on that, It's a mess.
  • shots don't count. players animations happen at an accelerated rate, even for yourself at times
  • melee attacks don't work, when you can clearly see on the killcam what happened
  • I paid $60 for Xbox Live, and it's still flawed

I might be missing a few problems that I can list, but a majority of them are there. I'm not making this stuff up. I'm not sure how the game is running on PC or Xbox 360, but I highly recommend not buying this for Xbox One. There's alot of s*** they need to fix, but I'm pretty sure we won't get a game of this calibur, that actually works, for some while. It's a shame too, because this game is alot more interesting than CoD, which also has problems, but never the less, I'm pretty sure everyone was expecting much more than this...

I can't stand FPS games anymore.

I think I'm burnt out from last generation.

I completely agree. I bought CoD for the first time on Wii U, because of all the praise it got from people, and I just don't see how it has been so successful. It's a decent game, but it's 95% the same as the last iteration.

This is just disappointing, though. I don't regard it as THAT big of a title, but it's still disappointing to see that a game failed what it was trying to do, and strictly, because of flawed mechanics abd programming. I got it in the bundle, but I'm starting to think buying a used one would have been better, then I could have just bought a different game, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

Unless your game is doing something different, I'm probably not interested. At least not interested enough to spend any decent amount of money on it.

Funny, I had to watch an ad at a movie theater recently that went on about how great Titanfall is and how it is re-inventive of online gaming... Doesn't sound much like it to me. When I first saw the game last year I thought it could be interesting but my expectations have disappeared long ago.

I don't care for PS' IPs, though. I had a PS3 and Xbox 360, but I favored Xbox 360 over PS3, so I went Xbox One.

A bold claim coming from someone who hasn't played more than one game from said franchise.

When I first saw the game last year I thought it could be interesting but my expectations have disappeared long ago.

The more I see of it, the more I never want to play it.

A false claim, coming from someone who doesn't know WTF I've played, or have bought.

I've played CoD 3, Modern Warfare, World at War, Black Ops, and I own the ones on Wii U,

Maybe you should've clarified that to begin? Actually, the more I re-read your post, it seems as though the Wii U ports of CoD were your first dips in the franchise.

Regardless, if you truly played more than two hours of each of those games, you would know they're not 95% similar. (duh.)

Cloak and X ray break the game very cheap skills in my opinion that shouldn't be in the game.

Would buy it in a heartbeat if it came out on PS4.

Titanfall had good intentions, but they didn't have the courage to change the standards established by Call of Duty from MW2 onward.

The entire gameplay still lacks challenge and variety. All those "revolutionary" features weren't realized properly, like the parkour stuff. It mostly serves to increase the pacing, but the gunfights are still way too simple (machine guns are still overpowered). Also, the titans don't feel different enough and lack diversity or strategic depth,
And that's not all that is flawed (online has many issues and bugs), but I'll just break it down.
Titanfall wants to be new, but with a measly two new components which aren't very well-balanced, it's really just Call of Duty: Mecha Warfare after all.

There's no point in buying a PSBOX for another 4 years... GTA 6 is the only game worth the weight.

@Chrono_Cross
Maybe, but I know we've talked about this in other threads. I have played more than 2 hours. The campaigns were somewhat different(different activities), and they had some new things in multiplayer(perks and such), but the core game is still exactly the same. Maybe 85% the same is more fair?

@Jazzer94
Cloak isn't that bad, IMO. It's usually pretty easy to see when someone is cloaked, for me, and people can hardly tell when I'm cloaked(for some reason). I don't know how to use the X-ray thing very well, though. I always focus on the X-ray and end up forgetting tat they move after that, which sounds stupid, but I've actually gotten killed by using it. I'm surprised no one's gotten a seizure from that, honestly.

@Aviator
I was just trying to give an honest opinion about the game. It's f***ing broken, just like Battlefield 4.

@Kaze_Memaryu
I agree.

Maybe if you stop trying to play TitanFall on the Wii U, It's gonna give you those problems.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

The games kind of, sort of play similar so that means they're all the same.

You're so wrong it's painful. You should play the games before making ignorant conclusions.

I didn't get any other last generation console until a few months ago, so I'm not burnt out yet. In fact, I'm actually looking for some good offline shooters to play on my PS3.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.

I have played the games. You just can't accept my opinion, that they are all similar, more than they are different. I'm not the one being ignorant.

You think there's a substantial difference between each game, then good for you. No argument here.
