i wanna know if anyone has played the beta and what they think of it. I've seen videos and it looks really good and there are vehicles, and lots of customization and squad play! Tell me what you think!

I haven't played it, but it looks horrible.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

PSN is laggy enough on normal games, MAG is a lot more laggy... played like 30 minutes of it the other day, as long as it's on free PSN, not good at all..

Maybe you just have a bad connection, or maybe it's just because it's in beta. I haven't played MAG, but I have played a lot of Warhawk and Metal Gear Online with no lag issues, and plenty of other online games (mostly FPSes that I've rented but never bought). Obviously something like MAG will be more strenuous for PSN, but to jump to conclusions and blame PSN because it happens to be free is unfair to the service. Clearly we have had different experiences with it.

PSN isnt laggy!!!!!!!! xbox 360 fanboys always say that. i play uncharted 2 without lag, MAG has no lag. dedicated servers will reduce lag and warhawk also has dedicated servers.

or maybe I'm on a half-supported country and Sony servers are crappy for my Country... because Xbox LIVE and 99% of PC games work without any problems for me... heck, even Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection works a hundred times faster and overall better!

I blame it on being free based on my Xbox LIVE experience... paid service, unsupported country and works the best... while PSN is free, country wasn't supported and is now half-supported (some games and the PSN store aren't officially available) and is crap...

And actually PSN isn't free, devs and publishers pay the bandwidth fees to Sony... but it's obvious the servers aren't as good as they could be since it's free and they have no obligation of giving any service to the users...

In Colombia,a south american, third world country you probably only heard about because of narcotraffic or terrorist organizations... I have a 2 Mbps down / 1 Mbps up connection that works very well with all the other services including Xbox LIVE, and up until today, I had the PS3 connected with the same LAN cable I use for my Xbox 360 since they were next to each other.

Oh and please, don't be such a blatant Sony fanboy lol

Ive seen a good bit on this game and Im not the biggest FPS fan and this does look pretty good. Im a bit worried about the amount of players because in Killzone 2, even thought the levels are huge it always seems that everyone ends up in one place and its a flippin death fest, spawn..... die.... repeat, and hopefully maybe kill someone in between. Im sure with this style of play and hopefully no trophies to encourage spawn camping will play entirely different, Im sure.

@DarkG..... dude, Ive never even seen a bit of lag in the 25+ hours of Uncharted 2 at all. Ive seen some in MW2 but it was my connection as Im on the end of a circut and the weather got bad for 2 days straight and had 3-4 instances of laging for a minute or two. Netfix on PS3 is completely lag free and dang impressive in clarity and connection speed. The only lag Ive ever really had on my PS3 was with playing GTA 4 online and Farcry 2 online. Both of those are much better supported on Microsoft systems anyways so its not suprising.

Guys, he made a pretty obvious and irrefutable case for himself, unless one of you also lives in Colombia and can speak otherwise for PSN support in the country.

Of course, you also made a blanket statement that "PSN is laggy," when it would have been much more appropriate for you to have qualified the statement in the first place since that isn't a fact in most major regions.

Has no one from NA, EU, or AU played MAG? I'd love to know more about it myself from someone who is unlikely to have lag issues. Visually it looks bland, but the concept is intriguing. It's got potential, at least.

Played Metal Gear Online at a friend's and no lag at all. The developers still got a month to polish up the game and fix these lag issues if they do exist.

There will be lag, but hopefully not much as I want try the game out too. It looks like it should be fun, with enough maps at least. Hopefully the leveling system is rewarding and has enough variety to not become stale too quickly.

Oh, and DarkG has mentioned that PSN is rather crappy where he lives in other threads. He's not just saying that to put Sony down.

don't have any lag on my 360 playing 64 player frontlines, so i think the PS3 can handle it. also on the subject of shooters its come to my attention that the Ps3 has more exclusive shooters then the 360 this gen.

Uh, it's like 240 players or something like that...

I feel the same way. But something this major will be popular for a long time. I'm continually surprised how long Warhawk has remained popular. I only convinced myself to get it because it was just $30. I don't think I could justify buying MAG, but I plan to rent it if I can.

Yeah, that.
@Strofan7: It depends, if it's a success, it should last a while without dieing. But if it flops, don't expect a whole lot of players in a year. It's really hard to judge console games though... A good PC game can survive a long time due to dedicated servers... If you're the type who likes to go back to a game a couple years later, you will be disappointed if you don't get much playtime in the first while you play the game.

Left 4 Dead and the original Gears of War aren't exclusive. GEOW2 is exclusive though.

both Left 4 Dead games, and Gears of War are exclusive... the only other platform with those games is Microsoft's second platform: Windows. Plus, they still are console exclusives, there's no other console you can play those games, and to play Gears of War on PC you need a very good one...
