I had no idea the PlayStation and Saturn were 32 bit until like a year ago. I thought, since they were up against the N64, that they were 64-bit too. Wow, Nintendo had them beat big time.

I never knew the GameCube had better graphics than the PS2 until a couple of minutes ago.
I never knew there was a USB slot on the back of the xbox 360 arcade.

Since it came out after the PS2. Heck, I think even the Dreamcast had more power than the PS2.

Indeed, it's a marketing ploy for those who cared for power...should we be using Gigabytes for the Next Gen?

Did you know the Saturn was hard to programme for?

Did you know that the CD format could store more information than the cartridge format?

They could store more information, but the loading times for even simple sequences were exponentially longer than they were for cartridges (which were almost instantaneous). It was a tradeoff, and gamers obviously had good arguments on each side to back up their preference.

Now the technology has caught up and allowed for faster loading from a CD, and installation onto hard drives, which makes CDs a no-brainer as the dominant media. Back then, though, it wasn't everybody's unrivaled cup of tea.

You could play import SNES games on the American SNES by removing the flaps off the cartridge slot.

I thought the N64 was limited by itself to 32 bi, the only true 64bit console was the Atari Jaguar then. A finished fight for life would look better then any game like Resident Evil or Perfect Dark.

In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

komicturtle

I never knew that the Wii is actually capable of playing DVDs [movies] if it got a system firmware update. Nintendo.... Do eeeett. Well, then again, big deal. But still...

And I did not know that my Sega Dreamcast would not be getting NEW games back in 2002 when I got my PS2... I was really upset...

If you turn the Gamecube upside down, there are 2 ports that I assume are for wired internet connection, but I've never seen a Gamecube game that uses that, so oh well.

Yeah, I believe even modern computers still use a 32 bit colour system. 64 bits seems to be rather unnecessary.

Now that I think about it, I believe there are video cards with 300 something bus, I am not sure which one they talk about on the video game systems.

Phantasy Star Online and possibly one other used it.

Yeah, the GC had better graphics, but most large companies (AKA Capcom, EA, Square) were ditching it for the PS2. So the GC was stuck with more cartoony games by Nintendo that never really got to show off it's graphics while the PS2 was getting some real purty games like Gran Turismo from the larger companies

Actually, I have no idea if that's true, I'm just theorizing
