Well since we have a Steam sales thread I figured why not have a GOG sales thread, besides I tend to buy more off of GOG.com then Steam anyways not sure why but I do.

Anyway just in case you didn't GOG.com is similar to Steam where you can buy digital copies of games including some older games that have been patched to run on current computers.

Anyway right now they are having there Summer DRM Free Sale. http://www.gog.com/

So far I picked up Dust: An Elysian Tale for $5 which I have been wanting to play for awhile now. Might pick up some more as well if something catches my eye.

Anyone else pick up anything at GoG.com?

Haven't used GOG.com, but what I can say is that Dust: An Elysian Tale is an awesome game and is most definitely worth the $5 you spent. I got it when it was free on XBLA and it's one of the best XBLA games I've played.

Yeah I have seen my son play Dust on XBLA a bit and I will say its a gorgeous looking game. The controls look solid and the story looks great which is one reason I picked it up for GoG today, since I can play it easier on my computer then the Xbox 360.

Got Omikron: The Nomad Soul and just installed it. That and other French games are on sale for a few days. (Including Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy), Raiden Legacy, and Another World)

Raiden Legacy I prefer on Android because just flipping my Tablet over is a pretty good way to play a vertical game (I use a Nyko Playpad Pro).

I have it on Desura as well but I don't have it installed.

(Raiden DX is still my favourite though but there is no decent version).

Raiden Legacy is a pretty lousy port TBH, but the games themselves are excellent. Worth the few dollars on GOG.

Finally, the price for Another World is right! Glad I didn't get it when it was $5.

So GOG's having their Valentine's Day sale. I'm thinking of getting

  • Dustforce DX—Looks really good. For $2 I don't see how I could go wrong. It reminding me of Broom Kirby from Dream Land 3 is a bonus.
  • Devil's Dare—Heh, I was hoping this would go on sale. This looks like a pretty good beat-'em-up. My major concern is the references, which seem very corny based on the trailer. I doubt they'd detract much from the experience, though.

They are emulated not ported.

The big advantage of using it on a tablet is how simple it is to play it in 3:4 (Like it was intended).
