I played awakening in Casual mode two times and I completely ignored the classic mode. I know fire emblem is known for its permanent death but I feel like casual mode was best suited for me. I know a lot of fire emblem games probably kept the classic mode so I guess I would have to get used to it in future fire emblem games but still, I love awakening so much that I'll never forget my times with it.
That said, which mode you think fire emblem should be played in, Classic or casual?
I played in Classic due to being used to that style from previous Fire Emblem games (mainly Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn). One important note is that Fire Emblem wouldn't exist anymore if it wasn't for casual mode so I'm of course glad that option exists.
I've completed Fire Emblem: Awakening twice in casual mode (I played it again because I missed out on quite a lot of the children, not knowing that they were children, as well as Tharja, Gaius and a few others). I usually restart a level, or at least reload whenever a character dies regardless, but I'm just too big a chicken to play Classic mode. The fact that Fire Emblem: Awakening is so accessible and unintimidating for newcomers without compromising on difficulty for longtime fans is what makes it so great. Awakening has certainly made a fan of me. I don't think I can go back to playing previous entries in the series (I've dabbled with Radiant Dawn, however, I found the interface to be horribly counterintuitive), but I shall be looking forward to any subsequent entries in the franchise.
After experiencing Fire Emblem on both Wii and 3DS, I think that the Fire Emblem style of gameplay works better as a handheld experience.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
