So after replaying a song on Osu! almost 100 times to try and get an S rank (still no success here) I realised that I'm a special kind of crazy person who keeps aiming for perfects no matter how long it takes. I can lose entire hours playing a single song over and over again and completely lose track of time. So surely there are other rhythm fans on this site who can sympathise! Whether DDR, DJMAX, Rhythm Heaven or Jubeat or Guitar Hero , feel free to discuss your favourite songs or brag about your biggest achievements!

My biggest achievement personally is perfecting every Rhythm Heaven DS song except for Rhythm Rally 2. I may have developed an irrational fear of table tennis because of it.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Seriously, I'm not a big Rhythm game fan, but when they do something quirky and charming like this, I just can't resist them.

I bought Audiosurf recently, but I don't get it :/

It's great that any song can be a level without somebody having to map it first, but it just feels like me listening to a song and playing an unrelated game at the same time. Or maybe I'm just playing it wrong haha

It's a puzzle game, and its difficulty depends on the music/song, lol

This isn't really recent but I noticed these machines have been popping up in arcades where I live.

It looks totally silly and not as... impressive as some other games? I still want to try it someday though. If only I didn't feel so self conscious playing these energetic games in the arcades lol. If I were more coordinated it would be a different story -_-'

@Jollykarp: Well it is a lot better than using buttons on your controller in my opinion.

Umm… Care to have some gravy?

I've only played Rhythm Heaven on DS and Wii. I got Superb on everything on the former, but never got too into Fever...

I feel confident in saying I will never enjoy a rhythm game more than Rhythm Heaven.

I never thought I'd be a rhythm game fan because I never felt compelled to play DDR or any of the Guitar Hero games my brother loved BUT my love for anything related to Hatsune Miku has shown me the light. I've barely touched any game than Project Diva F because I can get lost for hours and hours in trying to master songs. The best thing about the game is how the awesome videos can get so distracting and the button combinations so fast that you have to rely on ear because sight can fool you. I've always been more of a sight learner so being forced to listen is a fun challenge.

I also stumbled across Rhythm Thief completely by accident on the eshop and it was cheap and the demo was so fresh and inspiring that I could practically taste mint so I bought it to fill in the gaps between Project Diva (poor Fire Emblem didn't stand a chance. ) The difficulty in this one is more annoying than Diva despite been less... difficult because some of the controls are wonky and tricky to pull off to the beat but still worth playing through. I finished the main game now so I'm working on bringing up my scores and unlocking some of the extra modes.

I have come to the conclusion that I will likely never be get Perfects simply because I have this nasty habit of becoming aware of myself when I'm on a roll and then screw up. But close to perfect is totally do-able with tons and tons of practice and many hours of my life sucked away.

So thanks to these two games, I'm turned on to the genre now and patiently await more fun and fresh ways to be precise and attentive while grooving to some funky music. Games I'm really hoping to see overseas soon are Project Mirai, the new Taiko no Tatsujin, and that Senran Kagura Burst rhythm cooking game.

It's so good, that I have three copies of the game.

I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!

I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!

I've played Elite Beat Agents and a few other rhythm games over the years (and I REALLY WANT Rhythm Thief!) but strangely the one that sticks out was Boom Boom Rocket on XBLA. Something about the combination of funky classical remixes, shiny lights, fireworks and explosions made it very addictive!

Well, scratch that thought because I just got my first Perfect in Project Diva. lol It was in Easy mode though but it's still a start.

This is like, my favorite video game genre next to fighting games lol.
DDR is my effing jam. Love that series. Hopefully it continues with the next generation... Rhythm Heaven is also fun and I can't wait to try out that Hatsune Miku game and Persona 4 rhythm game when they come out.
