I am genuinely surprised people are missing the point.
I thought it was fairly obvious, but my point was having excess funds that are essentially worthless unless more money is added. Ain't nothing that can be bought for $1.24.

I'm honestly surprised that anyone didn't realise that Sony's email system was automated. There was credit in your account, you haven't spent money on your account for six months, the system chews out a email to try and entice you back.

It's hardly a "problem."
Weird. I'm sure I have funds but I never get this sort of e-mail

Again, you miss the point. It has absolutely nothing to do with the automated email, I just included that for context. My point was the nature of the current digital download systems leaving excess funds that can't be used without wasting them on pointless things or having to add more money if you want to use them.
It was just a lighthearted point that apparently some people have taken far too seriously. Jeez.

I had a message pop up in my PS3 inbox with a message like this a few months ago. Except it notified me that I had like $0.47 cents that haven't been used in months, you know that one left over cent from a purchase that builds up. It prompts me to buy a movie or game with it, yeah, a game or movie for $0.47. You could barely get an avatar for that price.
