@YummyHappyPills Usual platinum goodness, action with attacks and bullets to dodge.
Oh yeah, you can also customize your character's "passive" with the chips. (And with chips being upgradable and different cost. The customizing is really good, you can even take off some parts like not seeing enemy's hp if you want).
@YummyHappyPills Passive abilities, like increasing your melee / shooting power, auto-heal of x% if you aren't hit after a few seconds (forgot exact number), or things like increasing your speed while moving.
@YummyHappyPills I wasn't actually talking about exclusives, just pointing out how most of the games I was interested in last year all came out in a fairly brief span of time, with only a few big exceptions, most of which were on the digital side. Persona 5 was the biggest exception I can think of, yet I remember that it was delayed a few months...
"Don't worry. It gets good after beating the game twice!"
That's the most backhanded endorsement of any game I have ever seen. 0-0
And now you know why I have no motivation to play Nier! Because I'm just not gonna put that much effort into a single game, yet apparently that's not good enough? Screw that, put the credits where the story actually ends. I have a life, damnit...
@darkfenrir It's all well and good liking a game, I do too! Some people don't like at all. But as @CanisWolfred said...that's the only first impression you're gonna get. If a game takes 20 hours to get to the point and the meat of it, with a solid if boring start, and worse second run, before that starts, you're game has an issue.
That first impression is paramount. You only get one.
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
@YummyHappyPills Same worldmap, although there's something that happened instory that'll change the worldmap for a bit.
Route A: You play as 2B, this is the first impression.
Route B: You play as 9S, and you'll see extra information you didn't get on 2B's run, pretty much different point of view but, same events (but you skipped over some part where 9S wasn't present in 2B's run, as well as knowing what happened with 9S at the time)
Route C: Where things hit the fan, you continued after the ending of Route A/B. At the end you'll be able to get between Ending C/D (This one you only need to redo the final fight, no need to redo the entire game).
Then the True Ending is E, with you fighting against the Credit itself.
@Dezzy You should totally play Nier Automata, it's a story about existentialism and what it's mean to be human.
I'll give it a try. Although it's incredibly easy to go wrong when you try and include academic philosophy in fiction. Crime and Punishment is one of my favourite books though so I'll give it a go.
One game that did a really good job being fun and interesting whilst covering an area of academic philosophy was The Swapper. (philosophy of mind rather than existentialism)
@Dezzy i thinn the problem is you guy think that the first play through is actually beating the game. The thing is it can be considered as a first chapter and the other play throughs are the next chapters since each playthrough is diffrent from the last
Wow. Bloodeborne is giving BotW a run for its money in terms of their frame rates. lol.
The One Reborn was awful, partly because of the boss itself, but the frame rates were a slideshow at times. The game definitely struggles on a normal PS4 (no Sony I'm not buying a PS4 Pro, I'm poor).
@Dezzy SOMA is a fantastic game that keeps you thinking (about it) long after the credits rolls. It shares some ideas behind what you experienced in The Swapper, but more through dialogue and what you see more so than what you do, gameplay wise.
Also...
YAY!
Dark Souls Remastered!
I know the game a little bit too well however, with a new lick of paint, it would be great to stumble my way through it all over again, and in 60fps too!
I would prefer a remake/remaster of Demon’s Souls, but hey-ho, I shouldn’t complain...
I actually don't want them to change the visuals in Dark Souls. I think the original has some of the best art design of all time. I enjoy looking at the environments more than I do the Dark Souls 3 environments. That extra detail and shinyness of Dark Souls 3 makes everything feel newer in my opinion. The original Dark Souls feels old and worn.
If they just get the entire game to 60fps and 1080p I'll be happy.
If they wanna change anything, just little stuff like a few more polygons in some of the environments could be good. Anor Londo has really noticeable low poly scenery. Obviously due to PS3/X360 inability to render such a massive environment with much detail. Would be cool to improve some of that.
Though according to PC Modders that led to some issues with hitboxes and timings in the original, probably because animations woulsnt have been keyframed at 60fps so they ran faster. Have to see if they accounted for thst
