Topic: The Official Halo 3: ODST Topic

Post anything about Halo 3: ODST and how much your excited for it. I plan on getting it at launch (9/22/09). Think of other acronyms for ODST than Orbital Drop Shock Trooper.

ODST = Out Door Sun Tan

Halo ODST looks good but thats about it.
Since I'm sorta sick of all the Halo hype especially for Halo 3 since that game is okay. I just hope nobody hypes this game because if they do it will be a slight disappointment.

Ummm..Your acronym makes no sense. There is no "C" in ODST.
I'm pumped for ODST, though. It should be interesting seeing if the series can maintain without Master Chief. I still think the game should hve kept its original name, though.

At least they took out the replenishing health feature. I really disliked that so many shooters since the first Halo adopted this incredibly dumb scheme. Where's the challenge in that? **yawn** I'll happily scrounge for health packs, thank you very much.

I'm psyched for this. The campaign demo reminds me of of CoD4, which is certainly a good thing. I'll be getting it at Christmas though, I make it a habit to not buy and big name games that come out between late September to January 1, this way it makes the wait till December 25 even more exciting

What I really can't wait for though is Firefight. The only time I play Halo is with my friends, and we have a blast playing it. It's our favorite thing to do on XBLA. And adding a co-op mode similar to our much-loved Nazi zombies.....Ooooh, this'll be fun:)

I hope its gonna be differant from the other Halo games. Not a repeat like the last 2.

by the way the replenishing heath is not the online mutiplayer
basically ur paying for a 5-7 hour campaign, firefight mode and the map packs because its going to be the same halo 3 multiplayer sadly i want a better ranking system probley the only reason am buying this is for the campaign, firefight mode and Halo Reach beta
Also i hate how so many people think halo is the best game ever or the best FPS all lies i personally think its just a over hyped FPS that needs some changing to make it a fresh experience again other than that CoD FTW

Shitty campaigns, boring multiplayer with zero sounds, atrocious story and characters, mute hero that talks, and horrendous load times.

Custom Games are the shit though

Im hopin this game is more like 2 than 3. I loved Halo 1 and 2 but couldnt even finish 3. It was just boring to me for some reason. I think ODST might freshin up Halo a bit. Hope so cause the games have a LOT of great things goin for it. 2 is one of my favorite games ever and Im well yes not a very big Microsoft fan. Glad the Project Gotham Team is now developing for PS3 as well now.

Since they started selling games, which they've done for as long as I can remember.

@The Fox: I mean it lacks the constant intensity of explosions, gunfire, and helicopters in CoD4. I like background noise, whether it be music or sound effects constantly when playing.

And I base my characters off very high standards. I think Squall from FFVIII was a bad character. Those are my standards. And characters in-game. I know MC is okay in the novels, but in-game, he rarely talks to let any personality shine through besides "I'm s tough soldier. Where is the thing I shoot?" The Arbiter is decent in Halo 2, but fails in Halo 3. The Keyes family has the same problem as MC, and for some reason I just hate Miranda. Johnson acts like the stereotypical African in an action-movie.

Cortana is awesome though.

Regarding the sound issue, I guess I kind of liked the mellow quiteness that followed between firefights. I suppose that one boils down to a matter of taste.
For the character design, I'm not going to say that they're great, but they are above the usual FPS or action title, and Master Chief is an example in how to create an iconic character based on his appearence alone. I also liked Arby, but that might just be Keith Davids soothing voice luring me in.
