Ok not quite sure how this will go over here but I figured I'd make a thread and see how it goes.

So the Neo Geo was the system that everyone wanted but only one kid in school had basically it was an arcade machine for the home. I am sure their are fans of this system here so let's discuss the Neo Geo.

Recently I decided to start a Neo Geo collection (it's actually turned into a father and son thing with my son and I which is cool) and made my first two purchases this past weekend, A consolelized Neo Geo MVS and a copy of Samurai Showdown.

So in case you're wondering what's a consolelized MVS basically it's the Neo Geo arcade board in a console that you can hook up to your tv.

So if your a fan of the Neo Geo discuss away here then.

I love my Neo Geo, especially for playing Metal Slug.

Yeah that's another game I will be looking to get. Also the Fatal Fury games as well.

LOL well hello again! The Samsho series is my bread and butter, but I'm also a fan of games like Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, Double Dragon, Garou, King of fighters, SVC Chaos, Last Blade and Ninja Combat. Many of these games have been re released on other consoles and I have all of them emulated but there is nothing like the real thing. I remember in college we paid some kids dues for the video game club just because he had an AES cartridge system. I remember staring at ads for the Neo Geo with such longing as a kid...I didn't have the heart to ask my parents for one given the price. The few times I could find an arcade that had a Neo geo multi-cart ...all of my quarters and time. I used to take a step stool to my local arcade so I could play samsho (what? I'm short!) when I was a kid. Good times.

You can likely tell that I love fighting games and beat em ups.

@Ryu_Niiyama: Lol yeah I had a friend who actually had an AES, we'll his parents did and all I ever got to do with it was hold the controller, never got to play a game on it, never even see a game played on it. We asked them several times if we could play it but they always told us no, I guess they were afraid we would break it or something.

I have played obviously ports of Neo Geo games like Samurai Showdown and Fatal Fury on the SNES and PS2 and obviously played them in Arcades but always wanted the home system. Like you though I didn't have the nerve to ask my parents for one for obvious reasons. That's why I figured heck I will get one now.
