Im almost done darksiders II on wii u and despite majors glitches the game is amazing. After that my nxt big game is mario 3d world so i have time to play a quick game. My ps3 has been collecting dust lately and my friend asked me to try the last of us several time. Is that game realy that good...?
Currently playing : ZombiU on Wii U / Soul Sacrifice on Vita / Mario Golf World Tour on 3DS
As a narrative experience, it's incredible. As far as gameplay goes, it's nothing you haven't played before. That can work to its benefit though. It's a very emotionally engaging story with accessible, familiar gameplay.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
I think it's one of those games you'll know you'll like or not if you do some personal research. Personally, the gameplay looks too boring for me to get engaged in the story, I watched the videos and just couldn't get excited for it while everyone else was raving about it, so I had to pass on it. But you won't know until you read up on it and watch it in action.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
Is it a good game? Yes. Do I think its overrated? Oh, its very overrated but it does deserve credit and praise.
Great story but I didn't like the gameplay.
I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

The story is incredible.
Gameplay-wise, well, I don't like the PS3 controller, so that's going to put a damper on my opinion. It's well-designed, and it feels somewhat like Uncharted. I don't like Uncharted all that much. So yeah.
But if you do like the shooting mechanics in Uncharted at all, I think you'll like this one a great deal.
I'll say this first I am not a big console gamer, I prefer handhelds. But needless to say The Last of Us is one of the greatest games I have ever played. It has a dark haunting story that is nearly perfect. The atmosphere is also eerily like our own...20 years after it all fell to ruins. I can safely give this title a 10/10. Loved every moment of it, get it.

The multiplayer is surprisingly fun and addictive as well.
It's team based and you really have to work together to succeed. Stealth and patience are required, if you go in running and gunning you won't last very long.

The Last of Us is a very good example of some trends that have become popular within the video game industry. The game's got very solid cover-based shooting and well-executed stealth elements that all wrap around a good, film-like story which creates a great atmosphere. If you personally can't stand any those trends, The Last of Us is definitely not for you. Otherwise, go have at it.

Yeah, I know I don't really like any of that stuff from a very basic level, so I guess that's why it does nothing for me, but if you like any of that stuff, chances are you'll probably find a lot to like.
Personally I say no, because of the controller. If you are playing games on the Game Pad, it is just plain boring playing on the PS3 controller. The story really is nice and the voice acting is really good. If you want to watch all the cutscenes and play a simple linear game then it's a fun experience, but it's not as immersive as playing with the Game Pad, so you can also skip it.
It encapsulates everything that is wrong with the industry as far as playing a GAME is concerned
Well, it avoided quick time events. At least every action that your character takes (outside of narrative cutscenes) is the result of a corresponding controller input instead of a "press X now to totally kill this dude with your sweet moves" God of War style "gameplay."
Its gameplay isn't bad. It's just not special.
And there's nothing inherently wrong with a story-based game. JRPGs have been doing it for decades.
