I mainly just bought the games, because they were on sale. I heard lots of people liked them, so I bought them with no experience. I ended up not playing a single one, except Dead Space 2 for the most part.

So you bought games, and don't like them, knowing that without playing them?

Experience is different than research.

Then you didn't research enough. Did you watch youtube videos showing the raw gameplay footage? Read indepth reviews and previews from various websites so you get multiple opinions? I've never, ever been disappointed by a game I seriously researched, out of the hundreds of games I've played.

Perhaps, just perhaps, you just didn't know your tastes in games at the time?

This game looks and sounds amazing. I like the whole build your own items thing it has going on.

@moomoo

I just got an Ocarina of Time metacritic hit at 99. I don't know what's what.

That's probably it. I tried out some new games that everyone said were good games. I thought otherwise.

@Aviator
I bought games based of my liking of the first entry. I didn't like Uncharted 2 or Bioshock 2, even though I liked the first ones. I did do research on Assassin's Creed, but when I actually played it, I didn't like it so much.

That's why I'm kinda hesitant on playing these new games. I spent $200, and learned my lesson. It's done.

@SCAR392 What sequel does live up to the original for you? What are you expecting from them?

I actually booted up my PS3 today, and there were quite a few updates and such. I'm gonna try the games again, but my first impressions were not very positive.
EVE Dust 514 seems ok, but that's why I think Sony didn't take advantage a capable system.

There are great games on PS3. Can you please take the console bashing elsewhere?

Well, I think Zelda is probably my choice for direct sequel satisfaction. Ocarina of Time to Majora's Mask was great. It had alot of similar gameplay obviously, but the overall theme of both games was pretty different, IMO.
I liked Wind Waker, which counts as a sequel, and Skyward Sword is one of my favorites, too.
Starfox is one of my favorite series, and I played F-Zero X, then F-Zero GX almost immediately after I completed X, using the Wii's GCN BC.
Metroid Prime. I liked Metal Gear 3 and 4(I played MG Online alot). Pokemon Yellow to Gold and Silver. I liked Killzone 2 and 3 for the most part, but I never played the first.
Mario usually has something new, too. 7th gen is probably my most let down gen of all time honestly. I liked Gears of War 1, but not the sequels. I liked Halo Reach, but none of the other games in the series...
That should give more of an idea how much I think video games aren't always consistent with what I expect from a game.

Who's console bashing? They asked why I bought PS+ games, and why I didn't like them all. Most of these games are on Xbox 360, too, you know.

We all get you don't like Sony game stuff. And I have no idea what 360 has to do with anything.

Dude. Assassin's Creed, Borderlands, and Dead Space are multiplats for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. That's what Xbox 360 has to do with it.
It's also apparent that you never read, because I just stated like 2 times in this thread alone, that I've liked some PS IPs. Besides that, we've already been over this.

My first impression of Bioshock Infinite wasn't positive.

It takes more than a first impression to enjoy a game.

I tried Bioshock 2, Dead Space 2, and Uncharted 2 quite a bit. I got pretty far in these game before I called it quits.
I really tried to like these games.

Then why call them first impressions?

I don't know. The point is that I didn't like the games, and I didn't finish them because of it. A first impression would be the title screen on the game menu.

Ever since first seeing this game at E3 last year I think its just an overhyped, generic third person shooter. I am personally not wasting my money on this, specially since the only thing going for it right now is a bunch of biased reviews sony paid for.

First things first, lol.

Second, a first impression is not looking at a title screen. It's more like the first hour of the game.

Just for you.
