That's because Bethesda knows most people never bother getting to the end of the main story line.

I just described myself watching my brother beating the game so yeah...

Dunno about Oblivion. I gave the game two attempts and couldn't really stomach it.

I have yet to do a single thing in Skyrim in the proper order. I'm constantly showing up to some dude's castle that I've never seen before, only to hand over a mystical item that I'd mentally scratched off as garbage hours ago, and then sit and listen to the story be retroactively explained to me:

[B[King: Wanderer! Thank the gods you've come! The prophecy told us that a mighty warrior would arise, worthy of wielding Fjalnir, the God-axe, and slaying the evil Demon Prince Synraith. We believe you to be that warrior. What say you, traveler? Will you accept this task?
Me: Yea, verily I shall accept thine task and vanq- wait, Synraith? Fiery dude in a floating city? Cape made out of screeching souls? Ahhh, crap. I already killed that guy.
King: You ... already slew the Demon Prince, the Knife in the Dark, the Void at the Heart of All Men, whose identity you did not learn until just now?
Me: Yup. I saw that castle floating up in the sky, and I wanted to know if I could jump up the rocks to get in the back way. It took a lot of reloads, but I finally managed to hop on up in there.
King: You "hopped on up" into the Abyssal Palace?
Me: Yeeeep, yep yep yep. Just squat-jumped on in there and looted the place. Then I killed that Sydney guy-
King: Synraith, Demon Prince of the Abyss.
Me[/B}: -yeah him. I ganked that guy. Mostly just to see if I could. Plus he looked like kind of a penis.
King: Indeed, the Foulest of the Foul was "kind of a penis." But you vanquished him without the aid of sacred Fjalnir, the God-axe?
Me: Totally. It wasn't even a thing. I just hid on top of a bookshelf where he couldn't reach me and shot him with arrows. Then I waited until he forgot I was shooting him, and did it all again to get the sneak damage bonus. Took a while, but he died all the same.
King: Forsooth! Thine heroic deeds are ... well, that sounds kind of fudged up, actually. Never thought I'd feel bad for He Who Devours. So you have no need of our sacred totem weapon?
Me: What, the gold dealy, with the shiny bits? Nah, I already stole that out of the display case four hours ago, before I knew who you were. I gave it to Sven the henchmen, but he Quantum Leaped (read: glitched) out of the game with that mess.
King: Huh. So. I guess ... the bards will ... sing of your tale now?
Me: Oh yeah? Sweet, let's hear it.

Edited out the colorful (colourful) language.

I gave up on the Breton Mage at around level 23ish. On my third attempt with a level 44 Nord 2-Handed Daedric wearing warrior. I'm still seeing TONS of stuff that I haven't seen on my first 1.5 playthroughs.

So I messed up and bought Oblivion (PC) on the cheap off of Steam and dropped nearly 20hrs into it in just a few days. Today I was at Gamestop settling out my Vita preorder(s) and got to thinking about playing Oblivion: either great gameplay or shoddy graphics or great graphics with shoddy gameplay because my laptop graphics card isn't recognized by Steam and I said screw it and bought Skyrim for PS3.

I'm still a bit nervous about it because of the memory leak issues, but those having the most issues only experience problems with extended playtime over 3hrs per session; Of course, Bethesda would never claim it's a memory leak, but I'm thinking that it is as it would explain everything. Short(er) playtime doesn't allow for too much cache memory to build as it's reset when the game is turned off, because if the memory fills during extended playtime, then that's when you'll see the lag and NPS's flippin' out, etc. The game can't run normal functions if it's still trying to figure out what to do with everything it can't file away properly.

I've got very little time to play games outside of those for review and I figured that with the few I've got now and Skyrim, I want need to spend a dime on another console game for a longtime!

I can't yet. Got it in the Steam sale and I'm at my parent's for another week or so.
I can't say I am entirely jealous though. Christmas isn't about just playing games.

I still haven't decided to side with the Stormcloaks or the Imperials.

That's the beauty of multiple playthroughs. I chose the Imperials in my first playthrough. In my second, I never did anything Civil-War related. In my third, I sided with the Stormcloaks. I still love that Ulfric is voiced by Vladimir Kulich (from one of my favorite movies: The 13th Warrior).

The more I play Skyrim, the more I want to play it. I'm not one to get overly hooked on a game, but good night I love this game. I have a lot of favorites when it comes to games, but I hold a certain few in the highest esteem. Skyrim just might end up sitting on top of the pedestal!

Why doesn't the 360 version have the same issues?

I nearly wet myself the first time I fought a dragon solo. Skyrim has completely absorbed me into its world, and it very well may be the greatest fantasy-style RPG I have ever played. And I've played both Morrowind and Oblivion! The visuals are stunning for a game of this size, and I never go through a single playthrough without finding something new and interesting. I absolutely love the combat improvements (dual-wielding a sword & magic is pretty darn sweet) and it's a whole lot more user-friendly than Morrowind and Oblivion, that's for sure.

The only qualms I have with this game are the pesky loading screens and the amount of time Skyrim has sucked from my gaming life. ("Hang on, Rayman Origins, just one more quest! Ooh, what's that over there?")

Not a perfect game by any means, but a true classic that will only improve in time thanks to patches and DLC. In fact, this is probably the first game I've played that I plan on buying every last bit of DLC for. So kudos to Bethesda for producing a single-player series with playtimes comparable to that of an MMO.

Will the PS3 version ever get patched? Cause I'm not buying it with all those bugs and glitches. But it is so tempting!

Oh really? So how is this game better than a game made by BioWare (Dragon Age, to be specific)? Cause I thought BioWare were the kings of Western RPG's.

Well, uh... never said that but uh. I don't know. I guess the LARGE open world, wealth of RPG elements, customization/variety overall, storyline, hundreds of side quests, excellent dungeons, joinable legions (Dark Brotherhood), the cinemas within the game's quests, and dragons.

I never said you said that. I was just asking for a comparison between Skyrim and BioWare's RPG's.

On a related note, the Zelda and Skyrim comparisons make no sense, they're nothing alike. Skyrim has more in common with Dragon Age than Zelda.
