If you have any questions regarding Suikoden titles or just want to chat about the games this is the place to go!

I was just wondering how many characters can be recruited in Suikoden II? I managed to recruit at least 55 or so on my first playthrough, but I know that I had to have missed quite a few.

The only one I have played is Suikoden Tierkries on DS, and it's probably my favorite RPG on the system.

The anime style cutscenes & hand drawn pre-rendered backgrounds were gorgeous, the "One King" is probably one of my favorite RPG villains ever, the story was a nice twist on the impending apocalypse trope, and while it may not be fancy, the old school turn based battle system works just fine.

The wide character selection was kind of a double edged sword, though. On the one hand it gave you a lot of variety to choose from, but on the other, due to all the choices, I don't particularly remember any particular character that well (Faces, yes. Names, no).

It was a really fun game though.

Most of my knowledge of Suikoden is an LP of Suikoden 2. The entire LP basically exists to make me regret watching it before I had the chance to experience the game myself, because it is clearly one of the best JRPGs ever made.

I never got far in Suikoden II. I borrowed it from a friend way back in the PS era and played a bit of it till it got pushed aside for other games. He asked for it back so I gave it back and before I could borrow it again from him and beat it, he traded it in to Gamestop, move he regrets to this day. Now its too expensive for me to get now .

I did beat and got everyone in Suikoden and it was one of my favorite RPGs on the PS in fact I still have my copy and play it on my PS2 every so often. I enjoyed it alot more then Final Fantasy VII in fact which is sad when you consider that Suikoden was a much better game then Final Fantasy VII.

I only played the first game, but it was fantastic. Haven't quite beaten it yet, but I'm almost on the final stretch. Already screwed up and got locked out of two characters, though. Oh well. Looking forward to playing the rest someday.

Like the original you can get 108 stars of destiny, plus if you get all of them you can recruit a bonus character from the first game. You can also recruit several non stars of destiny squirrels, and 2 big monster characters, and a little monster character as far as I can remember. It really is a special game with a wonderful story and obsessive collecting mechanism. I really hope this comes to PS4 along with the other games... giving me an actual reason to buy a PS4!

Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?
